Wrong: "in the years after the legalization of medical marijuana, states that did so had a rate that was 25% lower than what we’d expect to see in that state, given past trends and what was going on in the rest of the country."

They also admitted the need for further investigation to determine if that was the sole cause.

I agree with that; a "conclusion" doesn't mean "there is nothing further to be learned about any aspect of the matter under investigation."

Please understand I am 100% in favor of medical marijuana. I don’t think the study was propaganda.

Not true. I don’t own a single piece of tie dye and I only saw the Grateful Dead in concert one time.

I don’t think JAMA wanted to even remotely appear to endorse this so-called “conclusion” statement. I don’t blame them. Anyway the “conclusion” is misleading since “rates of opioid overdose deaths have increased in all states”.
