Last week, Sarah wrote about how the Kroger supermarket chain was responding to Moms Demand Action’s petition to ban open carry in their stores. Kroger spokesman Keith Dailey said, "We know that our customers are passionate on both sides of this issue and we trust them to be responsible in our stores."

While it’s from a pro-gun control organization, the Wall Street Journal published a good map from them showing where the open carrying of handguns is legal.

Just be aware that federal law says that you must be licensed by the state you are in to carry in a school zone.

Not just the school zone, but within 1,000 feet of the property of a public, private, or parochial school. You can carry on private propery within that 1,000 feet.

Yes. But the federal definition of ‘school zone’ is that ... not just the signed roads for local traffic control.

Yes, I should have clarified that. Thanks!

Believe it or not, Vermont has Constitutional Carry.

You don’t need a permit or anything.

They have been trying to change it.

You are just lucky you are white.

Most minorities who are stopped by the police are shot immediately.

I have to take issue with their graph. You don’t need a permit to open carry in Utah, as long as the weapon isn’t loaded. Utah defines an unloaded weapon as one in which there is no round chambered.

Anyone know what happened to Birdman of BWS? Guy was awesome with his series of spoof ads; dropped out of sight.

Also, these rights are from God, not Man.

And I don’t recall any amendments in the Constitution to the Second Amendment. All legislative efforts to undermine it outside the scope of the Constitution itself are therefor themselves unconstitutional. And as an American, I do not recognize piracy.

Anyone that carries a big gun in public is comparable to a little dickhead in a Jag. That shrill enough for you?

Idiots like that woman with the gun sticking out her butt cheek wouldn’t have a chance. That gun would be used on her before she knew what happened. Advertising is one thing, but advertising so recklessly is just dumb!

BTW: I am a CC now and a deer hunter in the past. I am for my right to carry anywhere. Just not restlessly.

The reason: yes, open carry is legal. But carrying openly causes a public concern, and I should know that.

Then you don't have "Open Carry." If are breaking another law when exercise that right, you have no right at all. Only lawyers and loonie liberals can think like that.

Open carry is bad because:

Because you think it is bad, especially for people other than yourself. You and Wyatt Earp are in agreement.
