RAHN: Obama’s bad news for blacks (for all those who call you racist)
Washington Times ^ | 7/26/14 | Richard W. Rahn

If you knew nothing else about President Obama other than looking at the data, you might conclude that he was insensitive to blacks, given that they have done far worse economically under his administration than Hispanics or whites. What is striking is that the president and his advisers still seem to be clueless about which economic policies work and which don’t work. Despite his (at least for this week) emphasis on the economy, he persists in being the anti-Reagan, with anti-growth policies. In his speech Wednesday in Illinois, the president came up with no new pro-growth proposals, just more of what has not worked.

President Reagan reduced the maximum tax rate on job creators by 60 percent; Mr. Obama increased the maximum tax rate on job creators by 17 percent. Reagan cut non-defense, discretionary, federal government spending by a third as a percentage of gross domestic product; Mr. Obama has increased it. Reagan cut government regulations while Mr. Obama has greatly increased them.

The results are:

Under Reagan, adult black unemployment fell by 20 percent, but under Mr. Obama, it has increased by 42 percent.

Black teenage unemployment fell by 16 percent under Reagan, but has risen by 56 percent under Mr. Obama.

The increase in unemployment rates has been far worse for blacks under Mr. Obama than for whites and Hispanics.

Inflation-adjusted real incomes are slightly higher for Hispanics and whites than they were in 2008, but are lower for blacks.

The labor force participation rate has fallen for all groups, but remains far lower for blacks than for whites and Hispanics.

I've been listening to some black people speak about Ferguson. I find it hard to understand many of the locals and even make sense of what that black state senator was trying to say.

The irony of this is that the civil rights movement began about allowing blacks equal education opportunity. 50 years have passed and look what they've done.

“In spite of this the kool aid drinkers of America would vote for him again and again.”

That’s a fact. And it is why, with the changing demographics of the United States, the future looks very bleak for America. We can change that course, and save America, but it will take tremendous effort and resources, neither of which we have in any abundance.

"We can change that course, and save America, but it will take tremendous effort and resources, neither of which we have in any abundance."

Resources are limited, true. Effort is another story. We have yet to make a combined, organized and sustained effort as a Constitutional/conservative/patriotic constituency.

The Tea Party was a good start, but it went to sleep after the 2010 victory. We need to reignite that energy. The fact that the protests and rallies happened locally means they didn't take a whole lot of resources to pull off, either. The answer is with us.

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!

How are the communists going to get their revolution of the proletariat unless the proles feel they have nothing to lose and no other means of gain?

It seems like a hard game to maintain when they have to take ‘Honenchange’ and turn it in to no hope and convince people they are happy and better off.

I was going to make the same point. They are NOT clueless; they are deliberate in their effort to cause a socialist revolution in this country by making those disadvantaged (as a result of Obama's own policies) believe that the only way to bring them up is another dose of the same. And the downward spiral will continue.

People actually get more angry when they feel betrayed by one of their own.

Sarcasm? No, I was going to reply to the first post. You made the point first and I just added my comment for further emphasis.
