Iraqi Air Force, Kurds Advance on ISIL Terrorists
TEHRAN (FNA)- Kurdish forces backed by Iraqi fighter jets retook three villages from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) terrorists Northeast of Baghdad on Monday and also held off two assaults elsewhere, officials said.

ISIL terrorists overran large chunks of Iraq in a lightning June offensive that swept security forces aside, Al-Alam reported.

But Iraqi federal forces and the autonomous Kurdish region's Peshmerga fighters are now fighting to regain ground from the terrorists on multiple fronts.

On Monday, Kurdish forces backed by Iraqi army's air support retook three villages in the Jalawla area in Diyala province, as well as a main road used by ISIL terrorists to transport gunmen and supplies, Peshmerga members said.

"Jalawla is strategic because it is a gateway to Baghdad," Shirko Merwais, a senior Kurdish political party official in nearby Khanaqin, told AFP.

In the area, Iraqi aircraft are "carrying out air strikes and the Peshmerga... are fighting on the ground," he said, adding that "in the beginning, coordination between the Peshmerga and the Iraqi government was poor, but now, after the danger posed by (ISIL) grew, it has become much better".

Further North, ISIL launched two assaults on the Shiite Turkmen-majority town of Tuz Khurmatu, late on Sunday and early Monday.

Both attacks were beaten back by Kurdish forces supported by Iraqi aircraft, officials said.

The terrorist group Kaliphite (misspelled on purpose), formerly known as IS, formerly known as ISIS, formerly known as ISIL, formerly known as moderate terrorist groups.

Leading from behind is also behind the curve.

I'm wondering if more countries aren't putting aside their globalist wet dreams and working together to defeat the end of civilization threat of ISIS,

Excuse my blunt language. But, mygosh, the what's left of the civilized world has woken up, but our leaders are still looking for political advantage.

Obama says 'ISIL' instead of 'ISIS' because he refuses to acknowledge the 2nd 'S' - Syria.

You know, red lines and all that ... wasn't Vlad supposed to take care of that situation???

ISIS a bully, they prey on the weak and terrorize them. That crap don’t work with the Kurds. I’m sure the Kurds will not be displaying ISIS heads. Nor do I expect to see may of the ISIS as prisoners of the Kurds. ;^) Lets make sure the Kurds get plenty ammo, and then support their independence.

then support their independence.

When that gets close, watch the Iraqi air support stop or their targets shift.
