New York and California Migration to Other States is Helping Liberals Take Over America
Frontpage Mag ^ | 08/24/2014 | Daniel Greenfield

America is suffering from two failed state colonization problems.

One is migration from failed states in the Third World. The second is migration from failed liberal cities and states like California and New York City to more traditional and less densely populated parts of the country.

The pattern is simple for both. Carry on the same destructive behavior that wrecked your country/city/state after you moved to get away from it.

The same people fleeing high taxes, high crime and poor services are exporting the same problem by voting for liberal politicians. That helped make it possible for Obama to win nationally and for Democrats to win statewide.

Californians have moved to Colorado and Nevada. Massachusetts natives have moved to New Hampshire. New Yorkers have moved to North Carolina and Virginia — and, of course, have continued moving to Florida.

Over the last few decades, residents of many traditionally liberal states have moved to states that were once more conservative. And this pattern has played an important role in helping the Democratic Party win the last two presidential elections and four of the last six. The growth of the Latino population and the social liberalism of the millennial generation may receive more attention, but the growing diaspora of blue-state America matters as well.

The blue diaspora has helped offset the fact that many of the nation’s fastest-growing states are traditionally Republican. You can think of it as a kind of race: Population growth in these Republican states is reducing the share of the Electoral College held by traditionally Democratic states. But Democratic migration has been fast enough, so far, to allow the party to overcome the fact that the Northeast and industrial Midwest contain a smaller portion of the country’s population than they once did.

The migration helped President Obama win Colorado, Florida and Virginia

People leaving the state are looking for lower taxes, lower crime, a place to raise their family’s.
They are conservatives, not looking to change the new home to anything that resemble what they left.
Your own liberals are wrecking your state

The opposite is happening in Ohio. The Conservative leaning citizens are leaving Ohio looking for a better job market leaving us with the “gibsmedat welfarers” (and most of them are NOT minorities as some would have you believe)

California was the birthplace of Reagan, and was one of the areas where Goldwater received much of his support. (Some may argue that Nixon was also a classy resident, although I recognize him as the Keynesian toady he is). California did not become a blue state until the 90s.

California is blue because of urban thugs in Oakland, Hippies and Sodomites in San Francisco, Commies in Berkeley, godless amoral techies in the Silicon Valley, and the illegals and Hollyweirdos in LA. San Diego is fairly conservative for its size, while Anaheim, Bakersfield, and much of Eastern/Southern CA are very conservative.

Perhaps the best way to reduce Leftist influence over our federal government is to encourage all the liberal demographics to move to one state, leaving conservatives with 98 senators.

Those 10 million unemployed Americans would make one helluva rent-a-mob, if some patriotic wealthy conservatives would learn a lesson from George Soros. Rent buses, fill 'em with unemployed veterans, pay 'em $15/hour, and turn them loose on Washington. Kochs, Trump, et al...are you listening?

Good post, but I don’t know how conservative Anaheim still is. I have friends who live there, and it appears to be as badly invaded as LA. My friends who live there call it “Ana-crime.” You can’t swing a cat without hitting an illegal alien, and all too often, cars are stolen or broken into.

California was the political birthplace of Reagan but he was raised in small towns in Illinois.

California was invaded by leftest over the last 30+ years and now we’re living the result.

Boy, do I ever agree with that! I'm a conservative native Idahoan who for complex reasons is living in a southern CA coastal city. Until a couple of years ago it was pretty conservative -- until developers began enticing L.A. residents to move here with lower-cost real estate and good jobs.

The upshot is we now have serious traffic congestion, outrageously aggressive drivers, spiraling drug abuse, gangs and increased crime, "combat" grocery shopping, and our conservative politicians have been edged-out by redistricting. The Congressional district has been gerrymandered to elect a Santa Monica socialist lesbian to "represent" us, all "thanks" to big city idiots overwhelming responsible people.

We live in the age of the stupid, greedy, irresponsible Low Information Voter. If they can do this to a CA city, just think of the damage coming to the rest of the nation.

My wife had an uncle who was an Okie farmboy who went to California looking for work in the late 30s. I gather that he thought the state was pretty great.

He joined the Cal National Guard in 1940 and got nationalized. He never got to enjoy living there for long since he was killed in France during the Battle of the Bulge.

Things are different now.

AS a California native for over 60 years, I have seen this state, the home of Gov. Reagan, go from a Conservative mecca to a Liberal hell hole, all due to Libs moving here from the East Coast to escape “bad Winters.” Well those of us left here in Conservative Eastern and Northern California (where the Winters are still “bad”) are suffering under their stinking, anti-gun, anti hunting Liberal votes that have ruined this state.

With disappearing jobs the welfare state is growing. I think we are creating more liberals to go along with the migrating leftwing scum.

Technically... Reagan was born in an apartment on the second floor of a building in Tampico, Illinois.

I was once ingaged to a girl whose father was taught to swim by Ronald Reagan. Dixon, Illinois was it? Engagement fell apart, and I dodged a bullet with her as it turned out, multiple divorces. But, I loved her parents. Remained in touch with them, considered them friends.

UT did a poll that found the Californians moving to Texas self identified as conservatives by over 2 to 1 to the liberals moving here. I don’t know how conservative California conservatives are, but this is probably not the outcome UT was hoping for.

Unless someone is in a position of power and/or influence, all we can do is spend our money in ways that support American jobs, and refrain from spending when it will not contribute to American jobs (although many times this is not possible).

I buy Brawny paper towels; made in the USA. I buy Ford automobiles - not 100% American made but Ford is an American company and they didn't take any stimulus money. I place my dollars in the hands of local Mom and Pop stores and my bank is a local one.

If needed, I'll buy Goodyear tires, not Michelin for example.

The politicians ain't gonna listen to you or me or anyone on this forum. Ever. All anyone understands is money so if I may suggest coaxing people to spend their money wisely as a way to do their part.

There are a number of reasons we have lost jobs in this country and one is that it is more profitable to live off government than take a job. Another is government interference in the free marketplace - if we have one anymore. There are many more reasons before i would say companies are exporting US jobs.

Yep, NewHampshire is a basket case. Moved here from NY in 1986 to get away from the crap and everything was great until the Massholes and Cons moved in. Poor beautiful Vermont. The Libs really took over there but their citizens come to NH and shop. Seems they don’t like their high sales taxes.
