Tropical Storm Cristobal has taken shape and is expected to become a hurricane and impact the Atlantic beaches of the United States with hazardous conditions.
Tropical Depression Four strengthened into Tropical Storm Cristobal at 6:20 a.m. EDT Sunday. Cristobal was churning near the southern Bahamas at that time.
Cristobal is forecast to stay east of the U.S. this week. However the Atlantic coast will not be free of impacts from the tropical system.
"Even if a tropical storm or hurricane was to stay east of the Atlantic coast of the U.S., a strong system would generate swells that propagate outward that could reach the shoreline in the form of rough surf and strong rip currents during the last week of August," warned AccuWeather.com Senior Meteorologist Alex Sosnowski.

Not at all; they are lining up the scapegoats for our latest “summer of recovery” failure. I’ve been to the beach a few times this summer, but haven’t spent anything besides entrance/parking fees. NJ voted for Obama; let them swim in his blessings...

This must be one of those “catastrophic super mega killer” hurricanes that Algore said we’d get all the time now. You know with that global warming and stuff...here we are at the end of August and already we have the third named storm of the year.

Yeah, that’s it; the global warming pushed all the warm air up to the north pole, which melted the ice and caused it all to rush down to the midwest.
Man, science is like complex and stuff.
I never heard of that term before, until this year. Seems like another word to scare people into people in the global warming nonsense.
I’m like most media personnel; numbers make my head hurt /s. Remember that the criticisms of Obama’s use of the teleprompter equally applies to media staff who do nothing else for a living...
None of us heard of them before; the powers that be decided they needed new words to replace “homeless” and “McJobs” in their newscasts. If Republicans win the White House in 2016, we’ll never hear of the “polar vortex” again (and “homeless” and “McJobs” will be back in vogue).
The massive misinformation campaign underway for years in this country is very disturbing...

I work with some very well educated people. I heard some of them throwing around this “polar vortex” word, like it was a legitimate scientific term (which it maybe), as if they understood some complex meteorological concept.
