Rich Lowry: GOP Elites Who Whine About Jobs Americans Won't Do Should Be Shot & Hanged
Breitbart Big Government ^ | August22,2014 | Tony Lee

Rich Lowry, the editor of National Review, denounced Republican elites and their high-priced consultants in the permanent political class for pushing amnesty legislation by perpetuating the myth that there are so many jobs that American workers won't do.

"The next time I hear a Republican strategist or a Republican politician say that there are jobs that Americans won't do, that person should be shot, he should be hanged, he should be wrapped in a carpet and thrown in the Potomac River," Lowry said at a Thursday Heritage Foundation panel on immigration.

A recent Center for Immigration Studies report concluded that of the "the 472 civilian occupations defined by the Department of Commerce, only six are majority immigrant (legal and illegal)." In fact, the study found that "51 percent of maids and housekeepers, 63 percent of butchers and meat processors, 64 percent of grounds maintenance workers, 66 percent of construction laborers, and 73 percent of janitors employed are U.S.-born."

"The idea that immigrants only do jobs American do not want is mistaken," the report's authors concluded. "It is simply not the case that there are jobs that Americans do not do." Lowry, who stood against the Senate's massive amnesty bill, said, "The

Republican elite and the Republican establishment just doesn't get" how the illegal immigration issue resonates with American workers. He said the elites have a "simplistic view of the Latino vote" and think that they will become Republicans as soon as the GOP passes a massive amnesty bill. He pointed out, though, that after Ronald Reagan signed an amnesty bill in 1986, the GOP's share of the Latino vote went down in 1988.

Exactly, I’ve always considered Lowry to be a card carrying member of the “republican elite” clan.

“Jobs Americans won’t do (for almost nothing at all, as we prefer, and be totally without legal recourse after a conflict, which we also prefer)”

I can’t believe this man of weak convictions could bring himself to say what he said.

Rich may be a lot of bad things, but on this he is dead on, no pun intended.

I hope to hear his quote used from time to time by our side. Yeah, I know, fat chance, but it has been said once.

Holy moment of candor, Batman! Lowry’s not long for the National Review. The Chamber of Commerce types who fund the magazine will probably demand his ouster.

I was one of those who witnessed americans pushed out of job after job, after job, and it kept progressing up the ring of the ladder into construction and machine shops, and in time, union city worker.

One Mexican illegal would come into a car wash, or washing dishes in a restaurant, or as laborers at work sites, and it wouldn’t take long until the Americans would be pushed out.

There are still enclaves and towns in parts of the country that are not just all-american, but entirely white, and every single job gets done, even landscaping, car washing, and dishwashing, tire changing, roofing, sheetrock, demolishing, everything.

Illegals takeover and replace workers, they don’t come into a town with unmowed lawns and unwashed cars and unbussed tables and offer a new unknown service.

Most people have pretty strong convictions. The difference between you and Lowry is that unlike you, Lowry's job involves political opinions, but a frank airing of his convictions can get him fired. In the media world, being a declared conservative is like being a leper. No one wants to hire you. To get blacklisted from the conservative media means he is unemployable, i.e. his next job might involve asking "Do you want fries with that"? I fully understand his caution. He's not just a talking head - he's also a breadwinner for his family.

The only jobs Americans won’t do is secure their borders.

But let a Conservative mention anything about guns/shootings regarding a liberal personality ... remember those surveyor targets that Palin used and the MSM going ballistic over that?

I work at a large company. There must be some kind of rule about not hiring illegals, or contractors who hire illegals.

You will see blond haired young women running leaf blowers, mowing lawns and as janitors.

So i don’t know what jobs Americans won’t do.

Good for him. I would do any of the jobs he described, but not for $8 per hour. Immigration is not used to fill open positions but to depress wages for working people. I wish blue collar democrats would see that. Clamp down on immigration and watch the wages rise for those occupations.

Lowery is right on this one. George W. Bush liked to use that phrase.

But if you add in EBT, subsidized housing and free medical, the equation changes. My wife works at a supermarket and sees this all the time. A lot of money being wired to Mexico.
