The fight for the integrity of the election process and against election fraud took a big step forward Wednesday in Fairfax. The General Registrar for Fairfax County, Ms. Cameron Quinn, was presented with a challenge to the registration of over 14,500 voters in Fairfax County. The challenge was based upon information showing that those voters are registered to vote in both Fairfax County and Maryland.

The challenge was made by Mr. Reagan George, President of the Virginia Voters Alliance (VVA), on behalf of himself and three other residents of Fairfax County, under the provisions of Section 24.2-429 of the Code of Virginia. This statute allows citizens to challenge voter registrations by submitting a letter to their local registrars.

In response to this development, Matt Ames -- Chairman of the Fairfax County Republican Committee --stated, "Fairfax County Republicans are committed to a policy of zero tolerance for election fraud. Trust in the fairness of our elections is essential to public support for our system of government, and the integrity of the voter rolls is essential to ensuring that fairness. This is not a partisan issue, but fundamental to good government, and we will work to ensure that our voting system functions properly and fairly."

The VVA challenge will assist the General Registrar in cleaning up the voter registration lists in Fairfax County to ensure that only qualified individuals can vote. The FCRC urges the General Registrar to pursue this objective vigorously, and we thank the VVA for undertaking this effort.

Do the paticipants get their choice of weapon? Maybe a “lightning round-death match” would appeal to the voters, you know, like “two politicials enter, one politician leaves” and all of that. Of course I wouldn’t expect to see “debate”, or “platitudes” on the list of available weapons. No, something more like chainsaws, shotguns, and maces and flails covered in rabid pig blood.

We moved from MD to VA, and my MD voter registration didn’t get cancelled until I got called for jury duty in MD and sent back the card telling them I’d moved out of state. I checked my voting record in MD, and no one had voted in my stead.

VA has voter ID, and I don’t think any democrat VA resident who also votes in MD will change the outcome in that socialist state.

The question remains...Did any of the 14,500 dual registered voters, actually VOTE in both localities? People move, and while they make sure to re-register to vote in their new state, oftentimes they forget or neglect to cancel their registration in their old state. I’ve done it myself and I’m sure I’ve got plenty of company. But, and it’s a big but, I’ve never voted in VA and then rushed up to CT to cast another ballot. and that’s where the rub lies. Tell me how many dual VOTES came out of these 14,500 and I’ll get excited.

... I’ve never voted in VA and then rushed up to CT to cast another ballot.

The rub is the various moves to have mail voting, internet voting and early voting. With more time and options you have more opportunity if one is so inclined. Like with the need for written contracts, for the honest a handshake will do, for the dishonest nothing is sufficient!

And Matheson was one of the best writers who ever lived.
