Most of us, even many Democrats these days, are beginning to acknowledge the complete foreign policy failure of our president (for an overview see Bret Stephens’ The Meltdown in Commentary), but we still have to deal with over two years of Obama and we have a serious problem that needs to be handled immediately.
We could die. Not all of us but a lot of us. And our society as we know it could be destroyed.
Sound apocalyptic and a little overwrought?
Well, it is apocalyptic, but not so overwrought.
Surely you saw the Islamic State video with that journalist’s head being lopped off, not to mention other videos with people being shot in the back and dumped in open pits. You know too that the jihadi who beheaded the journalist was British. And indeed the Islamic State is comprised of violent religious fanatics from all over the planet who are well armed, virtually a terror army, and rich. They have explicit instructions to return to their home countries and wreak havoc for the glory of a coming global caliphate. Also, they have allies from North Africa to the Philippines who more or less seek the same thing under various names.
It’s not just Houston that has a problem now. It’s Western Civ!
So what are we going to do about it? Well, there’s a lot that can be done militarily, though much of that will probably have to wait for a new president, but just as importantly we must…
Build a fence across our entire Southern border and do it now. Make it as secure as we can. Spare no expense. Add whatever high tech accoutrements deemed necessary.
Don’t pretend for a minute this is about amnesty — past, future or possible — or immigration — legal or otherwise — or even about murderous drug cartels. Those are minor matters by comparison to a dirty nuke at the Mall of America. It is about the Islamic State and all their myriad clones that change every day but still espouse the same lunatic ideology. If we don’t do everything we can to keep them out, we were are suicidal and just as lunatic as they are.
But we don’t. So maybe we are. But we should sober up fast and do something about it. This should be number one on the agenda of the Republican Party this Fall for every candidate. Make it a cause. Give them all something to agree on, Tea Party, RINOS, whoever. If we can’t agree to save Western Civilization, what can we agree on? I am certain the vast majority of the public will be with us. If they’re not, show them a commercial with Foley’s head being lopped off while Obama heads out to play golf. It’s brutal, but it’s the truth and the public will know it.
And this shouldn’t wait for November. Legislation should be drafted by Congress now, emphasizing border security for the safety of our people. It should be publicized and placed in front of the Senate. Let Harry Reid turn it down, let the Democrats lose and then push the legislation all over again. Don’t stop.
The fact that a jihadi can walk over our border more easily than some of us can cross the street in front of our house is appalling. That we have a government that has permitted that is even more appalling.
Yes, the jihadis may be here already. Indeed many probably are. But we have to start facing it. If we can’t do something as obvious as building a fence, we’re hopeless. We don’t deserve what we have. And, hey, it would even employ some folks who need a job.
It’s time to stop Barry’s “unaccompanied” stampede to the U.S. treasury!
BUILD it and MAN it! PERIOD.

Sounds good to me.
I was thinking we could also make this a profitable endeavor. One could pay for the chance to blast a potential terrorist. For X number of dollars per hour, you get to man a shooting blind with complete immunity for blasting anyone who crosses the no mans land. You must be a citizen and you must bring you own firearm and ammo, minimum caliber of .223.

To build a fence and effective border defense requires the removal of the terrorism enabler in chief in the White House. He and his agents will frustrate every defense measure and ignore any legislation they don’t like should it miraculously survive the Senate.
It’s impossible. Have you seen the terrain along the border? You can’t build along that. And it’s miles and miles long. Can’t be done. What??? The Chinese did it over 2000 years ago using sticks and stones? No, that can’t be.

The “Fence” along the Southern TEXAS Border is 1,200 MILES long.
Illegal Obama Wetbacks will not mind a few scratches while crossing the fence, because they are here for the Welfare and cheap labor jobs as mandated by Federal Laws, Regulations and Executive Orders by generations of Federal Politicians in “both” Parties.
Stop Welfare payments to Illegal Alien Invaders, and there will be no need for a Border Fence.
