No you cannot guarantee your first shot will hit.
But who are “you”?
A resident dealing with a break-in in the middle of the night? An armed civilian dealing with an attack?
Or two trained cops armed to the teeth in broad daylight with time, position, backup and authority on their side?
Situational awareness and conditional responsibility are the BIGGEST aspects of using a gun. Starting with: you don’t shoot if you don’t have to shoot.
See #100.
Perp intended to kill a cop. In broad daylight. Facing two trained cops armed to the teeth.
Time? to do what? run away from someone who may very well be faster? stand there and get sliced in 2 seconds flat? call for backup, minutes away?
Position? where? stand on an open sidewalk? cower behind the car, as he walks around it?
Backup? backup arrived later in the video, well after _someone_ was going to die.
Authority? did the perp’s behavior give the slightest indication of submission or respect to their authority?
They had situational awareness. Shoot if you have to shoot. They shot.

- shooting is no problemo for me -
Time? He died at the cops feet....they used every second of time available.
Position? He took the high ground and went for the officer where he ended up dying.
Backup? Unless his partner can turn back to hands of time there was not anything else backup could have done....he hid the nakednin his pocket until the cops arrived.
Armed to the teeth? A handgun is only marginally better than a knife.
Authority? The crazy suicidal guy did not respect their authority....authority is not power.
One of whom had been seriously injured.
