Police in St. Louis have released a graphic video showing officers shooting a knife-wielding man Tuesday after he reportedly ignored orders to drop the weapon.

The video, taken from a cell phone of a witness, shows officers firing several shots at 25-year-old Kajieme Powell, killing him instantly. Police fired a dozen shots overall, according to NYMag.com.

KMOX AM/1120 in St. Louis said police released more details about the shooting on Wednesday. According to KMOX, Police Chief Sam Dotson said officers were called on Tuesday after Powell walked into a convenience store, took two energy drinks, exited the store without paying, and then walked back in and took a package of pastries, again leaving without paying.

So then why do people sue police departments where a suspect kills someone in a pursuit and not the criminal? The police weren’t breaking any laws.

Lawyer; former military; Christian

Well that explains it. Useless, book smart, street dumb, over educated, but naive pacifist. You won't last 48 hours when/if SHTF. I'd rather have Cindy Sheehan as my battle buddy. Blech!

Totally agree with the don’t bet your life on Taser comment. When the incident on the video is fully investigated, I’m guessing the tox-screen will tell the story. The guy was the only one in the video wearing any kind of jacket. That alone will make any cop’s antenna twitch.

You are the one being stupid. I guess the word facetiousness was taken out of your precious law books? Go back I side, little man-child, while we men guard the streets and your institutions from criminals.

From now on, I'll use the appropriate /sarc tags with you.

no, did someone get stabbed? I admit I skipped to the end where the dude was arrested

Watch the video from 7:30 to 8:30 to see how fast a guy with a knife can take out several armed police officers.

Note that the video I put in my post #31 was of a different incident in South America where cops tried to arrest a guy with a knife, and DIDN'T initially just shoot him.

Too bad lawyers don’t face the same culpability in their work...

So clearly you agree with the following:

“That the police shot someone just for charging at them, two cops shooting one person, when it was clear he was unarmed? (And no threat to them as he didn’t have a weapon and could have been subdued by two trained police officers without deadly force). In other words he was shot in cold blood.”

What you’re basically saying is these cops were looking for a reason to shoot someone. And that indeed they are cold blooded. You’re suggesting we’re living in some kind of post-apocalyptic world where violence is running rampant in the streets.

Fine. We simply disagree. I don’t believe our society has degraded that much.

Name the last time an attorney was held liable for making mistakes that led to his/her client being falsely convicted or losing a civil case or a violent felon walking out of the courthouse to offend again because the defense knowingly lied and/or the prosecution failed...

You guys still get paid.

My point, again, is:

A) Did you miss the part, starting at 7:30, where the guy stabbed to death several cops? Or,

B) Did you LIKE that he stabbed several cops to death before they took him down?

A or B? Either watch the video before commenting (not just the last few seconds of it) or don't comment on it. It makes you look bad to the people who did watch the video.
