President Barack Obama said Wednesday that the U.S. won't back down from ISIS, the militant terror group that released a video Tuesday showing one of its militants beheading and American photojournalist.
'Today, the entire world is appalled by the brutal murder of Jim Foley by the terrorist group, ISIL,' said Obama, calling the group by the White House's preferred name.
'No just God would stand for what they did yesterday, and for what they do every single day,' he said.
'ISIL speaks for no religion,' he said, aiming his words at the Islamist faction that claims to have established a Muslim caliphate in portions of Syria and Iraq. 'Their victims are overwhelmingly Muslim, and no faith teaches people to massacre innocents.'
Foley stood 'in stark contrast' to his captors and executioners, he said, blaming them for a series of 'cowardly acts of violence.'
Americans 'are all heartbroken at their loss and join them in honoring Jim,' he said, somber but not wearing a necktie, as has been his practice during his extended family holiday.
Secretary of State John Kerry released a statement 90 minutes later, saying that Foley 'was brave and bold, and no masked coward can ever steal the legacy of this courageous American.'
Kerry noted that Foley had been held in captivity once before – in Libya – ultimately winning his release.
'The sheer unfairness and unlikely odds that this young journalist would again find himself in captivity in another conflict was almost unimaginable,' he said.
'It is impossible to express how much we all wanted this latest horror to end with his family reunited, as it had been the first time.'

Let’s keep an eye on what he does, not what he says. After every crisis he promises decisive action. He does a couple of symbolic things to appease people’s immediate anger and then gets back to his vacations and golf games until public anger wears off. He’s a liar and con artist. The media always lets him get away with it and never holds his feet to the fire. He takes advantage of the sad fact that people have very short memory spans.
He’s hoping, like OJ, that the real killer will be found on the 13th tee

The devil started out his deception career by twisting the meaning of words, and he’s still at it.

I work with the after-school program. There’s a 5th-grader who’s always sort of preoccupied; his dad is in the National Guard. He’s at home now but this kid is keenly aware that he could be called off at any time.
I hope this kid never has to know what a jackass, criminal jerk his dad’s life is at the mercy of. A foreign enemy combatant who has armed, trained, funded, and given free roam to people who behead whoever they want, if given the chance - and Obama has held the door wide open for them to have these chances.
I say a quiet prayer every time I see that kid, and do what I can to put him at ease.
My son is reading “Animal Farm”. Throughout the morning I’ve heard his laughter at parts that are just too bitingly blatant for him to help but laugh at. He just turned to me and said, “It’s reached the point where the absurdity has gone on so long that it’s not funny any more, and it just makes you feel sick instead.”
I said, “Yeah, where you wonder how this could ever happen.”
“Yeah”, he said.
I said, “That’s kinda the point.”
I didn’t tell him that’s where America is at, and why I’m still fighting.
How many people 5 years ago would think we could ever be where we’re at right now? Obama is worse than even Mitt Romney ever thought - but that’s only because neither Mitt nor any of the “cool people” would truly comprehend what some of us were pointing out.
It’s stopped being funny. Now it just makes a sick ache in the pit of the stomach of anybody who really reads the “book” Obama’s puppet-masters have been writing.
Beheadings? They’re coming here, unless we get a spine and wake the heck up. Some of us have been saying that for 5 years now. Is anybody ready to take this seriously yet?

The right response is to look on the map to see where “IS” has seized power, and turn those areas to molten sand.
