Hamas leader Moussa Abu Marzouk accused Israel on Tuesday night of having trying to eliminate the head of the group's “military wing”, Mohammed Deif, in one of its airstrikes on Gaza.
According to Reuters, Marzouk said Israel had broken the truce that was supposed to expire at midnight in order "to assassinate Mohammed Deif," but that civilians were killed at the site of the attack.
AFP reported that Marzouk said the airstrike killed Deif’s wife and child.
"The wife of the great leader was martyred with his daughter," in the strike, he wrote on Facebook while saying nothing about the fate of Deif himself.
Local health officials quoted by Reuters said three people were killed in a strike on a house in Gaza City, including a child and a woman. The third victim was not identified.
Earlier Tuesday, Hamas declared Israel had “opened the gates of hell” by launching an airstrike on a home in Gaza.
The group warned that the price Israel will pay “will be a heavy one”.

What’s a “military wing” of a bunch of terrorists that don’t wear uniforms, hide behind palie civilians, aim for Israeli citizens, and don’t abide by Geneva conventions? The guy is a rat and should be exterminated.

I think he’s dead. They got him. He’s the third unidentified person. Hamas hasn’t identified him because they don’t want the Israeli’s to know they got him. But I’m sure the Israeli’s know they did. Good intel. Hamas wouldn’t give two hoots that the wife and child were killed. They wouldn’t “open up the gates of hell” for a woman. No, they are all bent out of shape because the Israeli’s got their main man. He’s dead, I’ll betcha.

First thought, “Better luck next time.” However, I don’t believe in luck and hate that term. So, God bless the guidance systems and the guys that are taking aim.
It is quite possible that they killed him. We won't know for sure until tomorrow or after.

Hopefully, you’re right. I would be surprised though-I assumed that all of the Hamas big wigs were buried beneath the center of the earth under Shifa Hospital and all of those photogenic human shields.
