17 GIFs of a Drunk DA at the Heart of Indictment Charges Show Why Rick Perry Wanted Her to Resign
Independent Journal Review | 8-16-14 | Bubba Atkinson

Posted on 08/16/2014 12:02:42 PM PDT by afraidfortherepublic

Yesterday, Rick Perry was indicted on charges of abuse of official capacity and coercion of a public servant – felonies that could potentially result in a life sentence – after following through on his promise to veto state prosecutors investigating public corruption.

The left-leaning advocacy group, Texans for Public Justice, has largely pushed the issue, which stems from Perry threatening to cut $7.5 million over two years from the public integrity unit in order to pressure Rosemary Lehmberg, the Travis County District Attorney whose office oversaw that unit, to resign after she was convicted of driving under the influence.

While the courts will have to rule on the legitimacy of the charges, it’s not hard to see why Governor Perry may not want Rosemary leading an office.

they are progressive democrats so they are above "laws"...they don't apply to them

Maybe, but I'm glad these gifs (and the story) have come out.

Ridicule is the only thing that seem to slow the progressives down....and we need to be IN THEIR FACE with it!

So nothing has changed in Travis County since Ronnie Earle retired.

I wonder if Buckhead or his wife still read here... would like Buck’s take on this. He did the biggest damage to this Austin slime machine ten years ago..

He sure was mad!

I especially liked when one of the reporters asked about the “threat”. His answer (paraphrased)...it was a promise.

I think somebody in one of the articles said .223 or as you speculated 3 times the legal limit. Or as we say in Georgia “a snootful” :-)

I can’t see how the RATS think this will help them.

It gets Rick Perry in the headlines as direct object of the verb indict. They're hoping that's what will stick in the mind of the average low-information puke.

However, on our side, we have an oh so photogenic still-sitting Travis County District attorney.

Rosmary Lehmberg
Travis County District Attorney (incumbent)

This is the sort of thing that actually appeals to low-information types. You just have to draw their attention to it.

What’s the legal limit in Texas? .08 or .10? So she was either .24 or .30. That’s approaching Keith Whitley territory.

Not her fault. That line kept moving around. And those officers kept pushing her off. And it was windy, so it was difficult for her to keep her balance.

She would still make a good running mate for Hilary. The chances are 50-50 she can drink her into the table.

Omg.. She's complaining about ruining her life. I wonder how many people
this wretched witch has laughed at while destroying their lives.

Those in office should be held to a higher standard with Double the fines and Sentence
because they damn well know better. That is the only way to hold these people accountable.

Sickening.

LOL! I guess these fools don't realize that she's required by law to resign. A District Attorney, just like our school teachers, have contracts with clauses about moral turpitude.

The word is that there is a lot of Democrat dirt buried in the Travis County DA's Public Integrity Unit (PIU) files that would likely come to light if a non-Travis County Democrat Machine politico were to get in that DA's office! Since Perry would be the one designated by law to name a replacement, the Travis County Dems convened a different Grand Jury to "No Bill" this DA Rosemary Lehmberg and then this new one over the past 2 years to INDICT Gov. Perry. So these photos and blood alcohol tests and field sobriety tests never LEGALLY happened, so we are supposed to concentrate on an indictment (legal accusation) that, according to Texas Congressman Joaquin Castro, is sufficient for Rick Perry to RESIGN IN DISGRACE!

Ambitious ambidextrousism alright!
