Nicolle Wallace and Steve Schmidt were top members of the team that Romney lent to McCain to ensure that McCain would lose the election. Their primary job was to undermine Sarah Palin and write stories against her. McCain instructed her to follow their advice without questioning it.

And they’re still at it.

That is a lie and you should be ashamed of yourself for repeating lies.

Schmidt and Wallace both came out of the Bush-Cheney campaign and so far as I know had no connection to Romney.

Their primary job was to undermine Sarah Palin and write stories against her. McCain instructed her to follow their advice without questioning it.

They were running McCain's campaign, so dissing Palin wasn't their "primary job" by any means.

They do attack Palin now to excuse their defeat, but 1) McCain wasn't going to win the election in any case (the economy was too bad in 2008) and 2) it's understandable that campaign advisers would be angry at politicians who ignored their advice.

You can see a clip of Palin on her new TV channel completely winging it, without any kind of script or notes. If she was like that in the campaign the wrath of the McCain team would be easy to fathom.
