Arizona State University football player Edward "Chip" Sarafin has come out as gay, according to Compete Magazine.
In the magazine's August issue, the offensive linebacker said he told his teammates last spring.
"It was really personal to me, and it benefited my peace of mind greatly," he said.
Serafin told Compete, he told his teammates mostly for himself and because he wanted them to hear it from him instead of the college rumor mill.

I haven’t read this yet. I’m glad he’s making use of his scholarship to educate himself in case the football or spokesperson gig doesn’t pan out. He should have “come out” as an “Academic”.

Right before the season starts. So now on TV if I watch an ASU game, it will be pointed out who is the “gay” one.
Oh goodie. Now ESPN will breathlessly talk non-stop about how much courage it took for him to make this great statement. When the St Louis Rams played the other night, I turned the danged TV off because of the non stop talking about the homo on that team. Soon 99% of the NFL will all stand up and yell we are gay!!! Vote Obama in 2016!!!! Obama for dictatorship!!!

Here's a little anecdote which may be a little graphic but makes my point. I have a male relative that used to NEVER shut about about being gay. He had to drag GAY into every conversation, usually much more information than I, or anyone else was interested in hearing, besides just simply being tedious. Everything was about gay-ness. Finally, I had enough, so when he was a captive audience in my car, I gave him detailed descriptions of my experiences of sex with a woman during her menstrual cycle. He turned 3 shades of green and shut his mouth. I have to admit I thoroughly enjoyed his discomfort. Unfortunately, he never really understood the point I was making. Finally, I had to just limit my contact with him.
Maybe he plays offense and defense? (just kidding, bad joke)
That would shut me up too.
