Saudi FM Slams Israel, Pledges $500 Million to Gaza

On the heels of reports that Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) promised funds to Hamas in order to procure the current 72-hour ceasefire, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal openly pledged $500 million to "rebuild" Gaza.

Speaking at an Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting in Jeddah on Tuesday, al-Faisal accused Israel of trying "to wipe off Palestinian existence," and blamed the world for supporting "Israel's savagery against the people of Gaza."

Calling for Arab unity at a time when internecine bloodbaths are raging throughout the Middle East, al-Faisal urged the Arab nations to stand together on "one line" to oppose Israel.

"Divisions among Islamic nations are causing civil strife, leading Israel to repeat its crimes," said al-Faisal, recommending Arab countries "support all Egyptian efforts to stop the aggression."

"The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia considers the Palestinian cause its primary cause," boasted the Saudi foreign minister, announcing that his country would provide $500 million in funding to "rebuild" Gaza.

Moving all the “Palestinians” to a secluded valley somewhere in Saudi Arabia would certainly take them out of harm’s way and away from potential attack from the Israelis. And no doubt, the displaced persons would be much better off, no longer subject to embargoes or interceptions of “humanitarian” shipments which turn out to be armaments and offensive weapons like various kinds of rocket-launched artillery.

Except the Saudis cannot abide having those “sand n*****s” next to themselves, either.

....”always call Uncle Sam to do their dirty work”....

How’s it feel to be rebuilding Gaza and other moslem nations rather than our own?

If you’ve visited other nations major cities, or even view them on line....our cities are outdated and look like third world compared to theirs.

There isn’t a businessman to day that doesn’t know everything is moving abroad. War or not...it’s going there.

Peanuts. With 500 million they won’t even be able to rebuild the tunnels let alone purchase another 10,000 rockets. What a bunch of sorry cheapskates.

Don’t forget about all of the greenhouses, hothouses, and so forth for growing flowers, fruits, and vegetables that the Israeli’s left for the people of Gaza. Those products were exported all over the world. Hamas immediately destroyed all of it after the Israelis left.

Everyone should realize that money for re-building Gaza is the decades long accepted formula for funding Hamas who always gets their cut.

Like giving money to a panhandler. I once debated this with a young guy who said that instead of giving the money he always gave them food. "Do you realize," I told him, "that for every dollar in food they get, that's one dollar more of their own that they have to spend on alcohol and drugs?"

And that due to the closed borders the is no industry.

Vermont: Charles Krauthammer wrote recently in the Washington Post about how Palestinians in Gaza treated the lucrative industry bequeathed to them when the Israelis evacuated settlers from Gaza:

"...Does no one remember anything? It was less than 10 years ago that worldwide television showed the Israeli army pulling die-hard settlers off synagogue roofs in Gaza as Israel uprooted its settlements, expelled its citizens, withdrew its military and turned every inch of Gaza over to the Palestinians. There was not a soldier, not a settler, not a single Israeli left in Gaza. And there was no blockade. On the contrary. Israel wanted this new Palestinian state to succeed. To help the Gaza economy, Israel gave the Palestinians its 3,000 greenhouses that had produced fruit and flowers for export. It opened border crossings and encouraged commerce...

...And how did the Gaza Palestinians react to being granted by the Israelis what no previous ruler, neither Egyptian, nor British, nor Turkish, had ever given them — an independent territory? First, they demolished the greenhouses. Then they elected Hamas. Then, instead of building a state with its attendant political and economic institutions, they spent the better part of a decade turning Gaza into a massive military base, brimming with terror weapons, to make ceaseless war on Israel..."

So it turns out that.. and stop me if you’ve heard this before... the Saudis are not our friends.

Wonder if that will ever sink in?

I never thought I would be defending people in Gaza.

Have you any idea how many people live there? And that due to the closed borders the is no industry.

Uhh, they were given an industry by Israel...A farming industry with international contracts...They destroyed it...

Their only industrial inclination is to buy and build weapons to destroy Israel...

You forgot that Obama is giving them another 500 mil (apparently from his book sales), England is supplying hundreds more millions and of course Europe is sending tons of money...

And if the money actually went to the Palestinian people, they each have townhouses and be driving Ferraris...

“Have you any idea how many people live there?”

Yes. I was born and raised in Gush Katif and have been to all the towns of Gaza (really 3) many hundreds of times.

I’ve also flown over Gaza and dropped laser guided bombs on terrorists I probably knew by first name.

Your point as to “too many people” is true. Just like welfare queens in the projects have babies to get money, the arabs in Gaza do the same.
