The left wants “we the people” to get used to being physically subjugated.

I guess it’s all part of that leftist mindset that pops up in the PLO vs Israel conflict - it’s “not fair” that Israel, being an advanced nation, uses advanced weaponry to defend itself.

Yes. Someone that far can fart in your general direction. //sarcasm

Unarmed and 35 feet away is not a good sign.

Shot in the car struggling for the firearm is a much better story.

My guess, which is as good as any, is that he pretty much handled the cop, fired a weapon in the car and started running. The cop told him to stop and fired.

Unarmed and 35 feet away is not a good story.

these days generally I hate cops but I can understand some of the annoyance of the police officer.

Very often in the hood pedestrians slow walking in the street makes for a popular form of passive aggression.

The pace is extravagantly slow and designed to show that the walker assigns a value of ZERO to the time of drivers, particularly if they’re not black.

Whenever as a padestrian I make drivers slow I always try to.make a visibleshow of hurrying just a tiny bit —it’s repsect.

Hood people NEVER do that and cops pick up on it.

You would think that even the most podunk police dept would have EVERYTHING on camera by now; the cost of outfitting EVERY officer and vehicle is going to be less than that of even a small riot.

A threat, perhaps, but at 35’ the threat is not life threatening since he is unarmed. It does not merit deadly force unless the threat moves closer, to about 20’.

I agree. All we have is corruptible “witness” accounts here. The physical evidence will be a little more forthcoming.

I cannot imagine that someone in their right mind - officer, citizen, whatever - would just gun down a man clearly not posing any threat to him. Doubly so for a police officer, who’s entire livelihood is at stake. I think there’s a lot more to this story than is being released.

If it is as the witnesses state, then this cop deserves life in prison at least.

Did he have arms 35 feet long? Because if he did, your point is valid. I doubt if he did, though.

I have yet to find a link to that arrest record. It seems to have originated on a blog with no link from there. It is certainly possible, but may be invented.

I distrust the police almost as much as I distrust these looting blacks. I know that the police will make up stories to justify killing anyone, not just blacks.
and the blacks will pretend to infinity that he was just a good boy, turning his life around, wouldn’t hurt a flea....

If someone is in fear of a person without a firarm 35 feet away, they should probably have a different career than law enforcement.

The Tueller Drill assumes two things: One, that the suspect is armed with a knife, or knife-like object (screwdriver, etc.). And two, that the suspect is sprinting towards the officer.

Neither of those two conditions were present in this instance.

Was this the cop’s first day in town?

So, the kid is walking in the middle of the street? What white kid has never been behind the herd of black girls walking down the middle of the hall in high school? Used to drive me crazy.

This type of behavior is nothing new.

Certainly not worth getting worked up about. This cop had been on the job six years.

If the kid was 30+ feet away! and the were no other weapons! then the cop should fry.

They better come up with a better story.

Of course it doesn’t justify riots and looting. It might justify protesting in front of the police station.

So jumping out of your cruiser and gunning down somebody is no different than shooting a dog.

For your own safety please stay in your affluent, low-crime town.

When he shot an unarmed man 35ft from the car, he committed murder.

There is no other reasonable or excusable explanation.

I don’t trust either side to tell the truth.

Yes, the media is constantly pushing the meme that he was unarmed, but forget to say that he went for the cop’s gun and fired off a round.

What I see going on here is black people trying to provoke a response from Whitey McCracker-Honkey. I saw this happen all the time at a black-majority school I attended and I see this on the streets even now.

Walking in the street is one of them. What way to get a motorist to lash out verbally than to block the street by walking in the street or crossing it very, very slowly? How about when they switch their car radios on with huge speakers that rocks the neighborhood? These are forms of domination and anyone speaking out against it demands action by the blacks.

The cop tells them to get on the sidewalk so the cop can get by. Brown and his buddy mouth off to him. This really ticks off cops like you wouldn’t believe and they know it. The cop responds back and they mouth off to him again. The cop tries to get out of his car to deal with them but is pushed back. Brown jumps on him similar to what Trayvon did to Zimmerman and the struggle is on for the cop’s gun. The cop realizes his life is in immediate danger.

The cop might have gotten his gun and touch off a round. This scared Brown and he takes off running. The cop then shoots the fleeing felon (assaulting a law officer) which is legal to do. I could see him touch off one or two more rounds to stop him since the cop had the upper hand.

If Brown had gotten hold of the gun and touched off a round, dropped it and ran this certainly would have freaked the cop out, provoking, again, the emotions of a man who has just had his life flash before his eyes. As a result the cops emotions burst forth causing the cop to fire multiple times at the suspect without regard to the ROE whether the suspect had his hands up or if he had fallen to the ground after being shot and then shot him again.

If Brown was unarmed, and shot at 35 ft., Blacks AND Whites both have a grievance to redress.

Incidents like these are happening at an alarming rate.

"An unarmed person (35 feet away) CAN STILL POSE A THREAT!!!"

How, and is the threat immediate?
