Ebola Virus in West Africa Is New Strain, Scientists Say
NBC News/AP ^ | 4/16/2014 | Unattributed

The Ebola virus that has killed scores of people in Guinea this year is a new strain — evidence that the disease did not spread there from outbreaks in some other African nations, scientists report.

"The source of the virus is still not known," but it was not imported from nearby countries, said Dr. Stephan Gunther of the Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine in Hamburg, Germany.

He led an international team of researchers who studied the genetics of the virus and reported results online Wednesday in the New England Journal of Medicine.

The disease did not originate in other countries but the source is unknown?

Ebola will remain an endemic disease largely confined to Africa as long as the transmission occurs by direct contact with infected fluids. Even if infected individuals bring it to the US or Europe outbreaks will be very limited if there is any spread at all. However if the virus mutates, enters a pneumonic phase ad is transmitted via infected aerosolized secretions, then a severe epidemic can occur. Since scientists do not know the real animal reservoir of this virus, there is virtually nothing that can be done to prevent that virus mutation if it is going to happen. This outbreak is frightening but will not kill millions of people. As always its how the next outbreak behaves that is important.

The first Guinea case was confirmed as Ebola in mid March 2014 IIRC. Subsequently they discovered that there were two sources that erupted almost simultaneously.

In the intereview with Mother Abigail, she mentioned that possibility of such an outbreak.

What’s the point of quoting fiction here?

The Story of Ebola in Reston Virginia
http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/65053

In October 1989 people in the community of Reston, Virginia went about their daily lives not realizing that a serious crisis was developing right in their back yards that would not be entirely resolved until March 1990. It was a serious calamity that could have wiped out the entire population. This dire emergency was described twenty years ago by Richard Preston in his non-fiction book, “The Hot Zone.” The “hot zone” refers to an “area that contains lethal, infectious organisms” also dubbed “hot agent,” an “extremely lethal virus, potentially airborne.” (Richard Preston, The Hot Zone, Random House, New York, 1994, p. 296)

The people in the book are real, two victims’ names have been changed, and the narrative and dialogue were masterfully reconstructed from interviews and memories of those who participated in the crises.

I am glad you have answers for everything and the conviction to go with it. I am much less certain with so many little crazy egos on every corner. I understand your rational of the ebola killing across gender, race, ethnicity without bias which is why it would not be out the realm of possibility to me to create a situation where an entire continent was clamoring for a vaccine that would effectively save them but also sterilize them. Hemorrhagic fevers, of which Ebola is the best known, were of major interest to the Soviet Union and others as a bio weapon.

Easy to spread, near 100 percent mortality and great for spreading terror and chaos .

The epidemiology of the spread of this outbreak is atypical and suggests it was man made and intentional .

The genetic makeup proves that it is unique and potentially engineered

Maybe I didn't understand the report. Seems as though there are several variations and or mutations reported within the report. From reading the report did you gather mutations are occurring within the virus therefore there are variants ongoing and each variant is undergoing mutations?

Human evolution is a myth and a mutating virus is not evolution. Nice try and don’t take the Mark.

I called it ‘unlikely’.

Anything is possible. I would think that they’d be working on the ‘live forever’ part first. Figure out a way of pouring their ‘ego’ into a nice, clean healthy body first. Then you whack out all your mud people, Jews, Irish, Slavs, Koreans, etc.

Kissinger, for example. Anybody seen him lately? Soros too. All this planning, and no plan to stay here another 400 years to enjoy yourself being a king of the world?

The report finds that all cases stem from one single initial case.

The emeergence comes from one person bitten in a cave, or one person handling a dead animal with the virus.

Well how do we know they haven’t been working on that. Seen Daddy Bush lately, old geezer still jumping out of planes and Bill Clinton looks like an 800 year old Noah, still renting dogs. Anyway my apologies. I defer to your wisdom and knowledge YODA. You have my attention. I’m still laughing my ass off over the whack out the mud people. Why can’t I have a friend or neighbor like you that is so much fun and brilliant. Enjoying chatting with you.

Bingo. This is why the easiest people to ridicule are the secular humanists. Like human beings are the top of the food chain, and gods all on their own.

“I’m a scotch/Irish, green-eyed strawberry blonde.”

That’s hot.

As in headed.

No seriously, how many husbands are buried in the backyard? Nothing like the temper of an red-headed Irish wife. Buy the Italian wife something nice, and you can get away with almost anything.

Like a burning matchstick. The fire has to be completely out, no more smoke, and cool to the touch.

Then its like nothing ever happened.

This is why Irish husbands stay drunk - after three days, you wake up, pick up your teeth, and go on about your business. Your ribs have had a chance to knit, and you can almost breathe without it hurting too much.

Wow, you get me pretty well. My husband is twenty-seven years older than me. He says the times in between the exorcisms are definitely worth the blood, sweat and tears.
You are a stinker.
