It’s hard to believe that it’s been 35 years since this smash-hit frathouse comedy was first released. Amazingly enough, Animal House only received mixed reviews when it came out—though both Time magazine and Roger Ebert named it one of the best movies of 1978. Critics didn’t really matter, though, since the film grossed well over $100 million, making it the third-biggest of the year, behind only Grease and Superman.

No mention of Director Jon Landis, or the three people he killed.

"What the hell are we s'posed to do, you moron?"

That was his only line, but it was a good one.

Still one of the funniest movies of all time and holds up well over all the years unlike many classic comedies from the 40’s and 50’s that leave me scratching my head “That was supposed to be funny?”

Remember when movies like this, Caddyshack and the Blues Brothers made us want to see movies with SNL actors in them?

Now we get The Ladies Man, McGruber and Superstar. Of course when the show is no longer funny why should we expect the actors in it to make funny movies.

No mention of Director Jon Landis, or the three people he killed.

I think his crew made movies as an excuse to party excessively....

A lot of people died from those excesses as well...
