WASHINGTON, DC House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) today issued the following statement on U.S. operations in Iraq:
The presidents authorization of airstrikes is appropriate, but like many Americans, I am dismayed by the ongoing absence of a strategy for countering the grave threat ISIS poses to the region. Vital national interests are at stake, yet the White House has remained disengaged despite warnings from Iraqi leaders, Congress, and even members of its own administration. Such parochial thinking only emboldens the enemy and squanders the sacrifices Americans have made. The president needs a long-term strategy one that defines success as completing our mission, not keeping political promises and he needs to build the support to sustain it. If the president is willing to put forward such a strategy, I am ready to listen and work with him. For now, I wish Godspeed to all our men and women participating in these operations.
In one sense, the ISIS phenomenon may be a strategic blessing in disguise (tho our hearts go out to those suffering now). The most-committed enemy is coming out of the shadows and holding territory. We know where to find him and smash him when the time comes (not until O is gone).
The Saudi family exemplifies the treachery to be expected from ANY follower of Islam. Mecca and Medina are both on Saudi land and are only available/allowable to Islamic persons. I keep in my mind thoughts of all the peace loving Muslims in the USA if and when political situations boil over. People in the USA don’t know or have forgotten that Obama’s mother Stanley Ann took Obama back to Indonesia and enrolled him in a Muslim school. There is good reason/info that mama did this to honor Obama’s true father sperm donor a cult guru named Muhhamed Subuh.
I used the analogy of Christianity to explain why these sects of Islam are not competitors. I was not comparing the tenets and beliefs of Islam with Christianity. If you don't get that, then there is little more to discuss.
Uh, YOU don’t get it.
The Sunnis and Shias have been killing each other ever since they split.
Sounds like competition to me!
Also, last I checked, the Catholics, Protestants, Lutherans, Episcopalians, Methodists, and Pentecostals weren’t busy killing each other or blowing up women and children in Pizzarias!
Islam is no different in that regard.
Rush said that Obama only want to help his friends the Yazidis and not any other Christians.
“Yazidi, also commonly spelled Yezidi, is an ancient Kurdish-based religion with historic links to Zoroastrianism, which was founded in what is now Iran. The sect has developed into a separate religion over the centuries: Modern Yazidi recognize a supreme being responsible for creating the Earth, which is overseen by seven angels, according to Christine Allison, a professor of Arab and Islamic Studies at Exeter University in England and author of “The Yezidi Oral Tradition in Iraqi Kurdistan.”
Conflicts immediately connected with the Reformation of the 1520s to 1540s:
The German Peasants' War (15241525)
The battle of Kappel in Switzerland (1531)
The Schmalkaldic War (15461547) in the Holy Roman Empire
The Eighty Years' War (15681648) in the Low Countries
The French Wars of Religion (15621598)
The Thirty Years War (16181648), affecting the Holy Roman Empire including Habsburg Austria and Bohemia, France, Denmark and Sweden
The Wars of the Three Kingdoms (16391651), affecting England, Scotland and Ireland
Scottish Reformation and Civil Wars
English Reformation and Civil War
Irish Confederate Wars and the Cromwellian conquest of Ireland
Yes. They are. And you're a fool.
Why don't you want to discuss Theoria's links?
You are the fool who doesn’t understand what this discussion is all about, i.e., whether the various sects of Islam are competitors or not.
We were for withdrawal before we were against it...
Man, redistribution of power and playing God or polls is a btch isnt it?
Funny, they aren’t doing it now.
ISLAM is CURRENTLY AS WE SPEAK killing people, each other, and anyone who has so much as a minor difference of opinion, looks different, etc.
NO, there is NO comparison!
How about you make a thread in religion forum laying out why you honestly believe there IS a comparison.
Lay out your points.
Seriously.
That said, why don't you want to discuss Theoria's links?
They ARE competitors.
The SHI’AS believe their form of Islam is the only “called by Allah” form due to their view that the leadership of Islam went to Mohammeds son in law Ali upon Mohammeds death.
The rest of Islam had chosen Abu Bakr as caliph and leader of Islam.
Because he follows taqiyya.
Yeah I know, we should have let Saddam alone. The place would now be a mecca (pun intended) for peace and goodwill for all mankind.
>> “Islam is no different in that regard.” <<
.
Correctamundo!
.
Freedom is Islam’s enemy; Islam means submission.
.
Right, Northern Ireland was the last major one. Christianity is about 700 years older than Islam. What is needed in Islam is a Reformation that Christianity went thru. Islam has failed to adapt to modernity and it is more of a cult than a religion.
ISLAM is CURRENTLY AS WE SPEAK killing people, each other, and anyone who has so much as a minor difference of opinion, looks different, etc. NO, there is NO comparison!
Again, you continue to miss the point of my analogy about the various sects of Islam being competitors. They are not.
How about you make a thread in religion forum laying out why you honestly believe there IS a comparison. Lay out your points. Seriously.
That is an entirely different issue than what we are discussing. My analogy was/is not a comparison of Christianity with Islam re the beliefs and tenets. You have gone off on a tangent that has nothing to do with the subject of this thread.
It must be REALLY BAD if Obama is going to use military force. Although the Dems love using airplanes and bombs but never want boots on the ground. Hard to win a war with that strategy.
Northern Ireland was actually primarily a “Let’s do communism” event in its inception with Catholicism as a nice whitewash overtop.
“Again, you continue to miss the point of my analogy about the various sects of Islam being competitors. They are not. “
Yes they are, and you are vastly wrong.
Look to Iraq where ISIS is beheading other muslims because they aren’t “fanatic” enough.
Look at the sectarian violence in Sadr city due to one group being “not of us” in said city.
Yes, Shias, Sunni, Sufi, and Wahhabi are in competition.
Some through their “surrogates”.
