He wasn’t fired for conservatism per se, it seems to me from the article. Rather, he was fired for being “in your face” about contentious political issues while on duty/ in uniform. He was warned to knock it off with the politics and didn’t take the warning to heart. So for the MOST part, I’m not sympathetic.

But I tell you what DOES worry me here: He says that other soldiers were NOT disciplined for liberal/ pro-Obama politicking. If the military is going to ban political displays by on-duty soldiers — a good policy - then it needs to do so across the board, with no exceptions to help out the current Commander in Chief. (That’s how banana republics roll.)

When Obama says go pick up the guns, he wants a military that will say “Yes Sir!” He has been firing and replacing officers for years now. Anybody that understands the oath they took must go.

What’s your problem? The Air Force, the Marines, and the Navy, maybe even the Coast guard have bands.

“Just because someone joins the military, they do not give up their rights as a citizen,” Wells said.

Actually, you do give up many civil rights when you join the military. When military personnel refer to non-military people as “civilians”, it is not because the military think of themselves as above or better, it is because civilians still have all of their civil rights, whereas military members do not.

“...left is trying to eliminate the opposition.”

Actually that can be a good thing as the real opposition is readily identifiable.
