Women soldiers could be issued with special sports bras as part of their kit to better protect them on active service.
Defense chiefs are considering “adequate support” for servicewomen after complaints that their rigorous duties risked damaging their breasts.
One solider said she had spent the last two decades having to buy her own bras because official kit is not good enough. She is also calling for the reinstatement of a “hosiery allowance” to let soldiers buy their own undergarments.
But the move could cost to Ministry of Defense hundreds of thousands of pounds to properly kit out its 15,000 servicewomen. …

They can spend many BILLIONS of pounds on the dole for foreign immigrants, but a couple hundred thousand for soldiers will break the bank? Sounds like our country.

Holy crap. Last thing I’d wanna do is provide my bra size on some stinkin’ list maintained by/accessible to the mostly males in the platoon office. Besides, a government issue version of a bra? No thanks, I expect better satisfaction from the private market.
I think the attention-starved female quoted in the article only wanted to broadcast her ridiculous proportions - if that’s an accurate quote at all. Yikes, that’s gonna interfere with life no matter what your chosen profession, kid.

This initiative could definitely hold things up!
This is the profession I choose therefore you MUST meet my needs and by the way there are a couple of days a month when I have cramps so don’t say mean things to me.

I believe the measurements for articles of attire (including bras) in the UK are not the same as those used in the US.

If the current bras do not provide enough support for them to do their jobs they should be given better ones. I dont see the problem here.

Precisely. These women have chosen to serve their country. Their country has a duty to equip them properly. This may seem funny to some people - fine, nothing wrong with humour - but it’s also about treating those who are willing to serve and sacrifice with respect, dignity, and proper support (pun intended).
I certainly hope so. I can’t imagine walking upright with those!
