Young immigrants must risk deportation for chance to gain legal status

... When youths fail to appear, judges can order them deported. Since 2009, the number of such orders has more than doubled to 2,826 so far this fiscal year, according to court records. But the growth has been proportional to the caseload, leaving the no-show rate relatively unchanged at about 30%.

They fail to appear for a variety of reasons, advocates say: Some move; others are confused, struggle to find attorneys or hide out of fear.

By law, Central American youths are entitled to court hearings before they can be deported, but not to lawyers. About half of those who arrive unaccompanied, like Oscar, don't have attorneys.

Of the unaccompanied children who find attorneys, 47% have been allowed to stay legally, compared with 10% of those without attorneys, according to the study.

On Friday, advocacy groups in Seattle filed for an injunction to prevent children from being deported if they don't have attorneys.

diddums.
If they know they can be deported then it’s their choice to risk their lives, and if we did not advertise food stamps and tell them they won’t be deported then we would not have this crisis at the border.

Yet again the lame stream pushing their agenda.

I can’t tell if “Mom” is facing forward or backward.
Billy is the only one in that family with a brain. Even a child knows this whole thing is easily preventable.

If I were an attorney, I’d be happy to represent any of them for free. I’d plead “No-contest” or whatever the equivalent is.

My comment on the LAT thread:

Send them back. They should stay at home and work on fixing their own broken dysfunctional countries, instead of fleeing to the USA and bringing their dysfunctions with them. Where will the world’s poor and illiterate flee to, once they have rendered the USA as poor and illiterate as the countries they left? The American welfare system cannot be extended to the entire world and continue to operate. We have enough poor children, homeless adults, disabled veterans etc, in America, without opening up our borders to the entire globe, eager to come and sign up for welfare, free food (EBT), free housing (Section 8) free medical care, free education, not to mention incarceration of illegal alien felons and so on.

Then there is the Constitution: Article IV, Section 4: The United States shall guarantee to every state in this union a republican form of government, AND SHALL PROTECT EACH OF THEM AGAINST INVASION. Instead of doing his sworn duty, our treacherous president is actually orchestrating the invasion. The young “Dreamers” are just Obama’s human shields, his “Children’s Crusade” merely the sympathetic mask on the front of the Trojan Horse “Train of Death.” While the media fixates on the sad stories of children, cartel killers are walking into the USA without being hindered at all. Bloody cartels will soon be as dangerous in the Southwest as they are today in Mexico, thanks to the open border Quislings, lead by President Benedict Arnold Obama.

BS!!!!!!
No one gets deported from the interior!!!!! Not these days.

Just about all Obama deportations are Mexicans caught at the border and sent back home by bus. These were previously not counted as deportations because they really are not.

A real deportation is scooping up illegals in say Chicago and putting them on an airplane back to their 3rd world cesspit X.

We use and abuse our military in many useless missions...all except for their first one which is to protect the United States. In this case our borders. We need to use our military to counteract the Mexican criminal smuggling cartels who use modern communication and military style tactics to bring illegals and drugs across.

It is not against posse comitatus to deploy our military on the border of this hostile invader nation Mexico

wikipedia
The Posse Comitatus Act is the United States federal law (18 U.S.C. § 1385, original at 20 Stat. 152) that was passed on June 18, 1878, after the end of Reconstruction and was updated in 1981. Its intent (in concert with the Insurrection Act of 1807) was to limit the powers of Federal government in using federal military personnel to enforce the state laws.

(immigration laws being Federal laws!!!)

Then there is Article 1 Section 10, which allows any governor to protect his borders from invasion if the feds can’t or won’t.

Any border governor could ask for volunteers to build fencing along their border. Fences are not rocket science. A double fence that is continuously watched is very effective.

So, in other words, they have nothing to lose.

Right! A monitored double fence is the ultimate and cheap to build. A heck of a lot cheaper than allowing in uneducated illiterate illegal aliens. Monitoring by sensors and TV plus monitoring and armed response by the Border Patrol and US military

Every dollar sent on a serious fence system saves $100 in caring for, feeding, educating, medicating and incarcerating an illegal alien.
