On what could be the last lawmaking session before the summer recess, both House and Senate are preparing bills to one-up each other on immigration. First, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said that if the House passes a border crisis bill, he and Senate Democrats might attach the Gang of Eight comprehensive immigration reform bill to it -- a move that would clearly doom the whole border emergency spending effort. Now, House Republican leaders have written a bill that would stop President Obama from using executive power to legalize millions of currently illegal immigrants -- something Obama is widely thought to be getting ready to do. That, too, would kill plans to relieve the current border crisis.
Congress has the power to overturn executive orders. And there's no reason Congress can't do so in advance -- that is, pass a law that would prevent the president from doing whatever he planned to do in an executive order. Of course, that would require that both House and Senate actually pass a law, which won't happen in today's divided environment. But in this case, the Republican-controlled House can at least start the process.

It will never go anywhere because as the last part says, the Senate would have to approve and the President would have to sign. DOA!
But there is one suggestion that has merit that came from one our Freepers, and that is a governor of a state should file for a federal court injunction against Obama’s overreach, real or potential, and allow the court docket to eat up the clock until after the next Congress is sworn in.
A federal court injunction or federal restraining order would render all federal law enforcement illegal and off limits to carrying out Obama’s overreaching executive orders. No federal law enforcement officer will violate federal court orders that restrain Obama. Thus, Obama is neutered.

See, this is the problem. Brietbart is running a headline accusing Boehner of caving, meanwhile the Washington Examiner says they are checking Obama’s action.
We conservatives/Republicans really sound more and more like the Democrat party of the 1980s....mad at each other more than the opposing party.
Because the mass civil or state opposition hasn't happened. Obama is a would be dictator. The states and or the military would need to arrest him to stop what he is doing. He can play out the court delay game until he has destroyed the country by 2016.

Obamacare is the bastard child of congress and is not an executive order. The house voted to kill Obamacare 41 times but the bills never made it to the senate floor.
I have been in a hotel the last couple of nights. I do not have HBO at home but last night I came across an episode of the Bill Maher (sp.) show while flipping through channels. He did some sort of nursery rhyme regarding illegal immigration and of course mentioned how some people don’t want “brown” people in the country. He ended it by saying that “we need your grit” regarding illegals and then followed the rhyme by saying “Republicans are full of ****.” The audience whooped it up. More naivete from the left. And what kind of audience is entertained by such an important issue? The dumbing down of America is in evidence.

Even though most Democrats in the House are currently supporting any kind of amnesty they can get, Democrats as well as Republicans need to be called today. It is important for Democrats — three months before elections — to hear just how unpopular these amnesties are. More than anybody else in Congress in recent years, Sen. Sessions has stood up for immigration policies in the interest of American wage-earners and their families. 1. You object to Pres. Obama by himself giving another mass amnesty to illegal aliens. The news media are reporting that he plans to do it soon, and you are outraged.
2. Congress should not give the President any of the money he wants for the Border Surge unless the bill prohibits the President from issuing any more work permits to illegal aliens without congressional approval. Ask if the Representative will promise to insist on that.
