Nigeria’s national health minister confirmed that a Liberian man who died in a Nigerian megacity on Friday tested positive for Ebola, an often fatal virus that has killed nearly 700 people in the largest outbreak on record.

Reuters reported that the man collapsed at the Lagos, Nigeria, airport on Sunday and was taken to the hospital, where he was put in quarantine. He died five days later.

Before someone says the usual "coming to a border state near you," it has an incubation period of up to 3 weeks and cannot be diagnosed on the spot. Someone who has it can just get on a plane and be in any major city in the world in under 24 hours.

Usually, we should think about quarantine, now. But I suppose the left already considers this racist.

It needs to be locked down in the first villages were it appears so it can burn itself out.

Wouldn’t it be horrible if someone infected with this visited the WH and the Capitol Building, (while Congress was in session)?

I found this:

Transmission[edit]
EVD is believed to occur after an ebola virus is transmitted to a human index case via contact with an infected animal host.[citation needed] Human-to-human transmission occurs via direct contact with blood or bodily fluids from an infected person (including embalming of an infected dead person) or by contact with contaminated medical equipment such as needles.[citation needed] In the past, explosive nosocomial transmission has occurred in under-equipped African hospitals due to the reuse of needles and lack of implementation of universal precautions.[citation needed] Aerosol transmission has not been observed during natural EVD outbreaks.[citation needed] The potential for widespread EVD epidemics is considered low due to the high case-fatality rate, the rapidity of demise of patients, and the often remote areas where infections occur

Ebola virus disease

It can be transmitted through sex.

Well, I must say it’s a good thing that our Dear leader is doing a bang up job of securing the border. /sarc.

Isn’t this great – instead of being worried about one disaster befalling the country, we have a multiple choice in the matter.

Behind door Number one we have the Cloward-Piven choice.
Where it’s a question of either the Demonrats winning the election by importing new voters by the millions OR their winning by the ‘they’re racist for wanting to impeach me’ line.

Door number two can be a massive pandemic that wipes out the country.

OR

Door number three where we have a terrorist attacks across the unguarded border along with a spike in crime.

And you people thought that the end of the country would be boring.

Aerosol dispersal ala sneezing I suspect remains as a possible vector for ebola. Note that I mean aerosol as fine droplets containing the virus as opposed to airborne as free floating virus.

Now consider what a suicide bomber could do in an ebola tent ward.

Correct. And Billy Ayers said the left needed to kill 25 million Americans before socialism could take hold. The building blocks are in place. Thanks Obie!

Everyone in here agrees we need control of the border, but beyond your obsession with ebola coming into the US from Mexico, whats your solution about airplanes? Should we immediately and permanently stop all air traffic into the US and prevent US citizens from traveling outside the country?

Every Ebola thread makes me want to buy up surgical face masks or industrial face masks, etc.

I'm in Texas....land of the "undocumented"....we need all the masks we can get to ward off disease, especially airborne disease - stat!

Maybe an URBAN MYTH but I understand one Texas Border AGENT has been exposed to TB.

Is TB airborne carried?

Correct – this is an excerpt and a link on that:

Eyewitness to the Ayers Revolution
An interview with Weathermen insider/FBI informant Larry Grathwohl on whether to believe Obama when it comes to Bill Ayers.

PJ Media: Was this merely an academic matter to them, or were they serious about killing 25 million Americans that would not bend to their political will?

Larry Grathwohl: I suppose you could consider this a purely academic discussion in that the Weathermen never had the opportunity to implement their political ends. However, I can assure you that this was not the case. There was an absolute belief that they, along with the international revolutionary movement, would cause the collapse of the United States and that they would be in charge.

Unfortunately, it wouldn't end there. But, I had a similar thought. There's an African leaders conference at the WH next week. Some diabolical plotter could send an infected aid along with the diplomats. You'd think no one would willingly carry this virus--but remember, Islamists love death more than life, by their own admission.

Time to watch 12 Monkeys again.

Or read this again. (true story)

“The Hot Zone”

“The Ebola virus kills nine out of ten of its victims so quickly and gruesomely that even biohazard experts are terrified. It is airborne, it is extremely contagious, and in the winter of 1989, it seemed about to burn through the suburbs of Washington D.C.”

“At Fort Detrick’s USAMRIID, an Army research facility outside the nation’s capital, a SWAT team of soldiers and scientists wearing biohazard space suits was organized to stop the outbreak of the exotic “hot” virus. The grim operation went on in secret for eighteen days, under unprecedented, dangerous conditions.”
