LA gets some crazy storms. They are just unpredictable and infrequent.

But do you get humidity? We don’t. It’s nice and dry.

I grew up in socal and was there until the late 70’s and we had thunderstorms every year. Climate change?

They were taxed out of existence and God took his business elsewhere...

Rare for two reasons:

#1. Rare for their to be heavy rain in Southern California this time of year.

#2. Rare for there to be lightning when it rains in Southern California. Usually it only happens during hailstorms.

BUMP to this. I’ve lived my whole life in the middle of America where thunderstorms are dime a dozen. I can’t imagine a climate like SOCAL.

Tell hubby the earthquake isn’t scheduled ‘til Aug 10 — can’t remember my source, but put it on my calendar so must have had some meat to the prediction. Something to do with Full Moon and abnormally high and low tides.

I remember an El Niño from a few years back, when the waters off San Diego had tropical fish showing up. So, a Chubasco this far north may not be out of the question when the coming El Niño gets developed.

That will teach Progressives not to go out in a thunderstorm and shake their fist at God!

There was kind of a start to another El Nino, but has pretty much fizzled out. Many were touting it was going to be a super El Nino, but no dice, just as Joe Bastardi had predicted.

The “hub” will probably want to know what time the earthquake will be on 8-10-2014. Tell him to be alert between 4:45-7:55 am and pm.

Aug 10 won’t work for me. Could please reschedule.

They have upped the number to 14 struck with 2 hospitalized.

If they were on the beach when the storm came up they wouldn’t have time to get to shelter.

Yes, we do have a Mediterranean climate. I didn't think anyone else on the planet knew that. I think it's glorious.

My husband and I lived in Saudi Arabia on the Gulf for five years. This time of year it's 117 degrees, 95 degree water and 95% humidity. Makes me understand why the folks over there were a tad cranky before A.C. MISERABLE climate.

I swore I would NEVER bellyache about hot weather again. And I haven't!

GLORIOUS WEATHER here with the fog, westerly winds and no bugs. Well, I saw an earwig the other day, after decades without seeing one. So, I just sprinkle around a little "snack" for them and voila all gone.
