As Ukrainian troops gained ground in eastern Ukraine in early July, separatist leader, Aleksander Borodai, a Russian national, left for Moscow for political consultations.

After what he described as successful talks with unnamed people there, he returned to the rebel stronghold of Donetsk to introduce a new senior figure in his self-proclaimed republic, a compatriot seasoned in the pro-Russian separatist movement in Moldova and a war between Russia and Georgia.

Well, here we have more evidence of Putin’s involvement with an illegal war being waged against a nation that’s only crime is not doing what Putin says. I hope Putin’s fan club comes to its senses. Ukraine deserves to be a free and independent nation. The Russian people do not deserve to have Putin stealing their wealth. The other neighbors of Russia should not be dragged back into the USSR/Putin Part II.

Why?

For the same reason the United States should be free and independent, Canada should be free and independent, Poland should be free and independent, etc.

Why not? : )

You deserve something like it, too. It’s good to be free and independent.

Thing is, it won’t be any more free and independent than we are about to be.

Can’t tell me Reuters, who adores this guy, believe in freedom and liberty for anyone.

Ukrainian-born rebel leaders have been eased out, causing rifts among increasingly nervous separatists since a Malaysian airliner was downed over rebel-held territory just over a week ago.

I sure hope that Sapper is still there --

For the same reason we deserve to be free. Why do you think they deserve to be slaves of Putin?

You are a worthless Putinista, so it would be more accurate to say that you also do not want Ukraine to be free, and, thus, you are only projecting your evil desire onto Obama, though he probably feels the same as you do anyway.

You go from Ukraine thread to Ukraine thread posting about Obama.

Obama has done very little about Ukraine. Even his recommended PM Yats is gone.

This. Isn't. About. Obama.

It's about the people of Ukraine.

We deserve to be free because we defeated the work’s largest and most powerful empire (twice) and relocated or exterminated tribes of savages who objected to our rights over our territory.

Nobody “deserves” to be free as an abstraction.

Washington says the influx of Russians into the upper ranks of the separatists is matched by an increased number of heavy weaponry coming across the Russian border into Ukraine

Does anyone think for a minute that the Russians would trust their sophisticated rocket and missile firing systems to a bunch of lowly Ukrainians???

In that regard has anyone heard from Sapper and Bezler lately????

The Siberian-born Antyufeyev AKA Shevtsov sent by Russia to Ukraine said: “I am the authority. I have no problems... If they do not understand that, that’s their problem. I am a professional in making (people) understand.”

“Antyufeyev knows how to operate in such situations, how to suppress opposition and dissent... create an atmosphere of fear in which people will support any action by the separatists.”

FSB Colonel Strelkov, whose real name is Igor Girkin, left his home in a Moscow suburb in February traveling to Crimea where he occupied the regional parliament along with other fighters shortly before Russia annexed the predominantly ethnic Russian region.

Everyone deserves to be free, or at least that’s what the founders believed. Conservatives believe our rights come from God, not the state. You can argue that achieving that freedom is the duty of people and not the USA and still be consistent with historic American values, but you cannot say they don’t deserve it and be consistent.

No. Inalienable rights aren't an abstraction.

Nobody deserves to be a slave.

We deserve to be free because we defeated...

Nobody deserves to be liberated by a third party, but that doesn't mean that people deserve to be a slave.

BTW, haven't you noticed that Ukraine without help from anybody has been fighting this battle on their own.

Their problem is that they took the Crimea without any opposition and thought they could do the same with eastern Ukraine.

But somebody stood up and said: “Hey — wait a minute there, Vlad”.
