Are you ready to take a little test? I’m going to ask a series of short, informational questions followed by one philosophical question, so the test is in two parts.
Part One: Informational
Who said this and when did he or she say it?
Quote: “I remain opposed to same-sex marriage. I believe marriage is an institution for the union of a man and a woman. This has been my long-standing position, and it is not being reviewed or reconsidered.”
Answer: That was former President Bill Clinton in an interview with the flagship gay publication The Advocate in 1996.
Quote: “I think that the vast majority of Americans find [same-sex marriage] to be something they can't agree with. But I think most Americans are fair. And if they believe that people in committed relationships want to share their lives and, not only that, have the same rights that I do in my marriage, to decide who I want to inherit my property or visit me in a hospital, I think that most Americans would think that that's fair and that should be done.”
Answer: That was former Senator and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in a CBS News interview in 2003.
Quote: (Responding to the question, “Do you support gay marriage?”) “No. Barack Obama nor I support redefining from a civil side what constitutes marriage. We do not support that. That is basically the decision to be able to be able to be left to faiths and people who practice their faiths the determination what you call it.”
Answer: That was Vice President (then Senator) Joe Biden, responding to a question in a 2008 presidential debate.
Quote: “I believe marriage is between a man and a woman. I am not in favor of gay marriage.”
Answer: That was President (then Senator) Barack Obama in a 2008 interview with MTV.
In 2004 he said, “My religious faith dictates marriage is between a man and a woman, gay marriage is not a civil right.” In 2008, in an interchange hosted by Rick Warren, he said, “I believe marriage is the union between a man and a woman. As a Christian it’s also a sacred union.” (For the question of his earlier position from 1996, see here.)
Part Two: Philosophical
Note the dates of these positions quoted (all of them are from within the last 8 years); note some of the venues, which include gay publications (The Advocate) and gay friendly venues (MTV); and then note how clearly these opinions were expressed in opposition to redefining marriage, especially by the three men cited.
Here’s the question: What caused these politicians to change their views so radically in such a short period of time that today they strongly oppose and even vilify those who hold to the positions they themselves claimed to embrace just a few short years ago?
I’ll let you answer that question.
A long, long time ago, I asked my one homo cousin about this liberal hypocrisy.
His answer: homo voters back then could read between the lines and interpret the winks-and-nods coming from Democrat candidates. While a president could say things like “marriage should be between a man and a woman,” homo voters (and the dopey hetero voters they’ve duped into thinking they’re “allies”) knew that a president would usually have little influence policy-wise, but that the president’s judicial appointees could do their “dirty work” that the political branches were unwilling/unable/too cowardly to do.
We had this conversation right after Clinton’s re-election, after DOMA had been put into law. DOMA didn’t bug him in the least, because (I’m paraphrashing his words here) “a properly-stocked court is a liberal’s trump card. We can knock-down laws we hate, and force policy via interpretation of the 14th. Clinton will be gone in 4 years.. his appointees will be with us for decades.”
I hate his homo politics, but they’ve executed their plans well. I’m still shocked and depressed that our side in the so-called “culture wars” has been so outmaneuvered. Their side spends decades with politicians offering hints/winks, our side has (had?) politicians openly pandering to cultural conservatism.. and here we are. Remarkably depressing.
Well, the people who said these hateful things should obviously be put in prison and tortured. I would definitely favor that happening ASAP.
When the taboo structure of a culture is erased, anything can be ‘normative’.
The answer is they are craven politicians who will have no core values other than the desire to attain power, and will say anything to further that goal.
Furthermore, they will lie to the world and hide their true intentions in order to get elected. Their base knows they are lying and has no problem with it, because Progressives, like gingers, have no souls.
Yup. This is one of those issues that makes me glad I’m older. I don’t like where this is going one bit.
The liberal term for that is "dog whistles."
Money. The gay lobby, centered in San Francisco, is a very wealthy one.
How does being older help? Are the rest of us chopped liver?
Homosexuality is part of the downward slide of our culture and Western civilization. The reasons for it are the same as all reasons for leftist hegemony, the media, education, Hollywood, leftist based sociology, and hedonism. The normalization of homosexuality began as public saturation through all the things that shape our thinking, TV, the movies, school, social media..., and here we are.
Of course, the above doesn’t exclude what I think the real problem is, the spirit of this age, the reason why after 911 we are saturated with Islam, and the reason why we are saturated with homosexuality, why our churches are failing, why our borders are failing, and so on. I like to call it the Antichrist.

From reading the article, I did not find it to be the case that all were from within the last 8 years.
I know, it’s a selfish thing to say. It doesn’t change my desire to fight it one bit. My kids and grandkids aren’t chopped liver, just like you aren’t.
