Israel has dig at Brazil’s 7-1 World Cup defeat after diplomatic row over Gaza bombing

The handbags have come out after a diplomatic argument between Israel and Brazil got, well, very personal.

Due to the ongoing conflict in Gaza, Brazil has recalled its ambassador from Israel and declared that they ‘strongly condemn the disproportionate use of force by Israel in the Gaza Strip’.

However, Israel’s response was to criticise Brazil’s diplomatic abilities – and even have a dig at their World Cup performance.

Yigal Palmor, a spokesman for Israel’s Foreign Ministry, gave a statement to the Jerusalem Post, saying: ‘Israel’s response is perfectly proportioned in accordance with international law. This is an unfortunate demonstration of why Brazil, an economic and cultural giant, remains a diplomatic dwarf.

‘This is not football. In football, when a game ends in a draw, and when you think proportion is 7-1, is disproportionate.

‘Sorry to say, but not so in real life and under international law.’

"...strongly condemn the disproportionate use of force by Israel in the Gaza Strip’.

You have to do a lot of "recreational drugs" AND be an "openly gay" homosexual to say something that stupid.

Must be surreal to be swimming in your balcony pool on the 15th floor of your luxury suite and looking down on all those ghettos.

Dear Brazil:

Send us your Germans. We have unfinished business with them.

Sincerely,
Israel

When it comes to runaway Germans, the Israelis don’t mind fetching them themselves.

Brazil’s president, Dilma Rousseff, is facing a difficult re-election in two months because her government’s communist policies have predictably hurt Brazil’s economy. The latest polls show her support at only 38%.

Being able to energize Brazilian anti-Semites to vote for her by attacking Israel in its time of peril is a no-brainer — just as Obama’s recent $47-million-dollar gift to Hamas will help bring out the Louis Farrakhan wing of the Democratic party to the polls this November. God help us.

I don't get it.
I get the general drift of the message, but it must have lost something in translation. He should have just made a simpler response:

'You lost a soccer game 7-1 on your home field. You suck.'

Brief, and clear.

Dumb comment. Don’t get me wrong, I agree with the Israelis on the issues — but what the hell is the point of picking a fight with the Brazilian people, as opposed to letting them know how crazy their government is? Making fun of Brazil’s soccer prowess is only going to piss off ordinary Brazilians. It has nothing to do with the government.
