After the New York Times that Sen. John Walsh plagiarized at least a quarter of his master's thesis, the Montana Democrat is telling the Associated Press that post-traumatic stress disorder may have played a role.

Global warming probably played a role in it too.

As someone that teaches comp. at the college level, YEAH RIGHT.

A plagiarist is too lazy to even paraphrase the material to make it their own verbally. This guy knew what he was doing and took the easy way out.

Can one plagiarize a fellow plagiarist?

http://kmmsam.com/i-did-not-try-to-deceive-anybody-at-all-senator-walsh-on-plagiarism-scandal-audio/

Just moments ago I concluded my conversation with embattled Senator John Walsh. On Wednesday a New York Times story raised questions of plagiarism surrounding the final paper required for Mr. Walsh’s master’s degree from the United States Army War College.

When asked directly, ‘Did you knowingly plagiarize any author or any idea,’ Walsh answered,’I did not try to deceive anybody at all.’

FLASHBACK:

http://www.nytimes.com/1987/09/18/us/biden-admits-plagiarism-in-school-but-says-it-was-not-malevolent.html

In a letter defending himself, dated Nov. 30, 1965, Mr. Biden pleaded with the faculty not to dismiss him from the school.

‘’My intent was not to deceive anyone,’’ Mr. Biden wrote.

If PTSD pushes him to do unethical, immoral and dishonest things, then he had better disqualify himself from running for office. If PTSD pushes him to do things that he would not otherwise do, then perhaps he should withdraw from the race. One can never tell what this sickness will have him doing next.

Walsh is a liar and a cheater and a thief. He lies to try and cover for previous lies.
The suicide that he says caused his alleged PTSD didn’t happen in Iraq in the combat zone. It happened two years after the unit returned to Montana. Was Walsh really close to the guy that killed himself? Look it up. Maybe PTSD is a code word for “feeling guilty” in this case.
Walsh’s job when he was at the War College was to be a student. That’s what he was being paid to do. Students have to write papers to show mastery of a subject. Using someone else’s paper proves that Walsh couldn’t master the subject. It also proves that he couldn’t do his job.
You don’t suddenly hit the War College and show a complete lack of ethics. This would have been displayed throughout his 33 year career with the Montana National Guard. What kind of people could have looked the other way at his lying and cheating and stealing and then promote him? I guess it would be people just like Walsh. Shameful.

If this doesn’t work, he’ll try the “IRS lost my research” defense.

Democrats know if they plagiarize (especially if in Law School), they too can be VP just like Joe Biden.

PTSD? I'm not an expert but I would think when he went to Iraq in 2004 being an officer in the National Guard with 25 years, he wasn't seeing a lot of ground combat. I realize things can affect people differently. Supposedly one of the members of his guard committed suicide when he was doing this paper a couple of years after Iraq. To me that is just the way life goes sometime and not PTSD.

He has some other black marks on his record so I'm calling B.S. on the excuse.

It is disappointing that some one of his rank and privilege has so little shame for using such a lame excuse. I don’t think he saw any real combat like thousands of our enlisted troopers and Junior officers. Now he has RATS covering for him.
He must be a really weak candidate with the NYT outing him..they want a stronger candidate by Nov.

I’m surprised he didn’t say PMS caused it.

If PTSD was responsible for his past wrongs, then it will likely play a part in his future behavior.

There are already too many crooks in WDC now. Many are mentally unstable - see Harry Reid. We don’t need any more.

The institution that issued his Masters degree needs to revoke it.

I did not think that Democrats were allowed in Montana! It’s been too long since I was there.

I’ve seen several articles calling him a hero. Was his Bronze Star for valor, or for planning? One of the worst combat leaders I ever met - a total incompetent in the plane - got a Bronze Star because he was an O-6 who did lots of planning stuff...

Translation of “may have” in this case is: This is all I’ll say until the media thinks of something to cover my ash on this one.

Will PTSD get me off on a bank robbery attempt/kidnapping/DUI/hit-and-run and resisting arrest? If so, I could have some real fun next week.
