Dan Pfeiffer: White House Expects John Boehner To Try For Impeachment

WASHINGTON -- One of President Barack Obama's top advisers said on Friday that he expects House Republicans will ultimately file articles of impeachment against the president.

Dan Pfeiffer, a senior aide who has been with the administration since Obama first took office, told reporters that he anticipated that a lawsuit filed by House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) over executive actions taken by the president on health care would ultimately not be enough to satisfy some of the more vocal conservatives in Congress.

Pfeiffer added that coming executive actions surrounding immigration reform would only stoke the impeachment flames.

"I think a lot of people in this town laugh that off," said Pfeiffer. "I would not discount that possibility. I think that Speaker Boehner, by going down this path of this lawsuit, has opened the door to Republicans possibly considering impeachment at some point in the future."

Speaking at the Christian Science Monitor breakfast, Pfeiffer based his prediction on several factors. The first was former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) calling for articles of impeachment to be drawn over the president's executive action allowing certain young undocumented immigrants to stay in the country. The second was a CNN poll released Friday morning showing that while just 33 percent of the country supported impeachment, a full 57 percent of Republicans were in favor of it.

"I think impeachment is a very serious thing that has been bandied about by the recent Republican vice presidential nominee and others in a very unserious way," said Pfeiffer. "And no one has even made any allegation of anything that would be within six universes from what is generally considered in that space."

Just a crude attempt to motivate the Dem base before the midterms. The message is that the Dems must hold on to the Senate.

Ding! Ding! Ding!

We have a winner!

I don’t see why we should give them something they want so badly.

Maybe because it is the right thing to do.

It’s criminal what Obama does to a bathroom. The man leaves a stench that can peel the wallpaper off the walls. That guy can make more eyes water than the end of TITANIC.
And the noise! He goes in the bathroom in Air Force 1, and people fifty miles away think it’s going supersonic. People in Florida say that hurricanes make less noise than him.
You want Putin to back off? Put him in the stall next to Obama in the men’s room and lock the door. Two minutes and Putin’s pounding on the door begging to sign a treaty on gas weapons.

Let me get this straight.

The Democrats really, really want impeachment; therefore, we should allow the Obama-Reid axis to piss on the Constitution at high noon on Independence Day, just to deny them what they really, really want.

Ho-kay, then.

Maybe we conservatives should let Obama know that what we really, really want is for him to piss on the Constitution at high noon on Independence
Day. Then he won’t do it.

Do I have that right?

They want impeachment so badly they can taste it. I don’t see why we should give them something they want so badly.

...because it's a really, really bad idea...

Even "when" we win the Senate in 2014, it's still a very bad idea...

There is no way possible the Congress will impeach the first "black" POTUS, the political backlash will reverberate for decades...

Every single GOP congress critter would be targeted as a racist and hate monger...every time they ran for office...

Don't get me wrong, Obama should be in prison for treason at this very moment...

But he's not getting impeached...

The administration is baiting the GOP to do something very stupid...

Expect the democrats to start running ads that claim that certain GOP candidates want to impeach Obama even though it's a bold faced lie...

Voter fraud in districts with electronic voting will ensure Dems hold the Senate.
