House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) wants Democrats to “use this crisis” on the border to pass comprehensive immigration legislation — just as immigration hawks fear they’ll do.
“The most important thing that we can do to use this crisis as an opportunity is to pass comprehensive immigration reform,” Pelosi told reporters in Texas while discussing the border crisis. Of the House Republican Working Group’s proposal, she said she needed to see “what the amount is, hopefully with no offsets, hopefully with no language that changes immigration.”

They are actually saying:
Use this crisis, now! We may never get another opportunity like this. The next Congress will certainly be filled with more TEA party types. If you don’t act, brother RINOs will never be free from conservative oppression. If you congressional RINOs can free your minds to vote on this now, before the election, conservatives will never have anything else to hold over your heads. It may cost you your seat in Congress but you have to have courage to move forward. Forward, comrades!/s
This entire border invasion scenario was planned for months by the White House to coerce the House into voting for amnesty. But they miscalculated. Second in command, Eric Cantor, losing his House seat in purple state Virginia because of his amnesty record was a shock to their systems. It locked the House into no amnesty mode. Then the plan to freeze out the TEA party using a new “racist” hardball game plan went into effect in Mississippi and that blew up in their faces. Instead of putting the TEA party to death around the country, it made them more determined and totally disgusted other republicans. The Central American invasion also made people more determined to protect US sovereignty. So the invasion plan backfired too.
Now the only thing they have left is bring out the heavy guns to try to force the congressmen to commit political suicide. But they are running into trouble. The American citizens no longer trust the lot of them so they won’t be able to slip by on pretense. Any vote, including just authorizing money like Obama wants, will be seen as a step towards amnesty and may very well cost people their political lives.

In a Wall Street Journal op-ed, co-author and former Florida Governor Jeb Bush argued that it was important to send the majority of the 50,000 unaccompanied minors back home.
“Except for those deserving few who may demonstrate true cause for asylum or protection from sex trafficking, these children must be returned to their homes in Central America,” he wrote in the op-ed, which was co-authored by Clint Bolick.
Bush argued that the 2008 anti-trafficking law - allowing children to stay in the country - should be changed to help stop the flow of children crossing the border, who then claim asylum.
“The children who have come here were provoked by adults and made to believe that crossing our border would be the key to their family's escape from a life of poverty or danger,” Bush writes. “That must end.”
Bush has a record of supporting immigration reform, especially a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants. He has also suggested that for many, crossing the border illegally was an “act of love.”
