Beretta’s New Super Rifle
yahoo.com ^ | 7/23/2014 | Douglas A. McIntyre

Gun company Beretta is tone deaf when it comes to calls for restrictions on powerful guns sold in the United States. It must be the chance to make money.

Beretta's website carried an announcement that the ARX100 is "shipping now." Beretta markets the rifle as "Italian Design -- American Built." Regardless of its origins, the gun is unusually powerful.

Try an AR-15 in 6.5 Grendel. It’s like a 7.62x39 with the ballistics of 7.62Nato. Holds its energy a good deal further than 5.56Nato with low recoil.

I prefer the simple design of the AR-15 M4. No bulk.

Looking to buy my first AR, but as a lefty I am concerned about hot brass in my face. As a fellow lefty, is the concern misplaced? Ambi controls are not my main concern as I can work right handed controls just fine on all of my other long guns and handguns.

You’re right. Possibly one of the dumbest “gun” articles (I won’t dignify it with the word ‘firearm’) I
have ever read. The premise is how powerful the gun is and not one word about what caliber/cartridge it uses. The author should stick to reviews of things he has bought at Amazon.

I think this video would go better with the article.

I have shot ARs and AK-47s and have never gotten any brass in the face.

...as a lefty I am concerned about hot brass in my face.

Look for a little bump just aft of the ejection port.

That was added to flip the ejected cartridges away from a lefty's face. I believe the milspec rifles all have them - mine does.

Doesn’t it really all depend on the trigger pull?

Other than the bump, don’t most allow for installation of a brass deflector?

I’d have to defer that question to people who know more about ARs than I - I just got my first one after resisting for decades. All I have to say is “come on in, the water’s fine!”

I would love for Beretta to start making new BM-59s.

"Yahoo needs to admit that the “calls for restrictions” are coming from the enemies of the Republic."

YAHOO is an enemy of the republic. Left-leaning all the way (like Google, Costco, and some of today's "trendy" companies).

Don’t care for this bullet launcher.... Got to put a single magazine thru it on a goobermint range demo and first impressions weren’t good. Just my own opinion.

Stay safe !

“Regardless of its origins, the gun is unusually powerful.”

Yes, soooo powerful that it is suitable for targets or even varmints and small to medium sized game.

The author actually said that? The idiot probably thinks it's almost as powerful as a battleship. Maybe even as powerful as a comet. Probably thinks you could shoot the moon with it.

We need a program to financially assist those law-abiding citizens who wish to purchase premium firearms! How does “Libertycare” sound? ;)

Yea, what’s up with that sail anyway. Trying to take a shot in a crosswind would be a pain.
