Glenn Beck’s audacious defense against Boston Marathon bombings defamation suit
Washington Post ^ | July 24, 2014 | Terrence McCoy

On April 15 of last year, a thin kid with a bright smile named Abdulrahman Alharbi decided he would stop and watch the Boston Marathon for a few minutes. A Saudi Arabian studying English in Boston, he had heard of the famous marathon, but wanted to see it in the flesh, he later explained to one journalist. Ten minutes later, he witnessed what he first mistook for fireworks.

--snip--

Alharbi, like numerous others in the chaotic few hours following the deadly bombings, was questioned by police. They asked for his Facebook password. He gave it to them. They asked to inspect his apartment. He allowed it. News of Alharbi reached the media, but by the next day, the cops had cleared the 20-year-old. “He has been checked out,” a law enforcement official told the Boston Globe. “He is not involved. He is just a victim.”

Broadcaster Glenn Beck, formerly of Fox News, was nonetheless suspicious of Alharbi. He thought the Obama administration was hiding Alharbi’s involvement. So three weeks later, Beck urged the government to release its information on Alharbi or else Beck would “expose” him.

Alharbi was likely involved but since he is part of the Saudi Royal family they rushed him out of the country. He had an outstanding deportation order on him for another incident of terrorist activity/association. It was highly suspicious at the time but got the big coverup and now nobody remembers. I imagine that in this instance Glenn Beck was right. Even a loony tune gets it right once in awhile. Somebody post the pic of Alharbi and his gold 1911.

"If I had to study English, I don't think I'd choose Boston. "

That was my thought too.

Wasn't this the kid that was labeled as a terrorist for deportation and that the First Lady visited in the hospital?

There really was something strange going on about that kid.

IIRC he was supposed to be in Ohio studying, not in Massachusetts

One more aspect of the backstory may be the issue of who and why some Saudi nationals where allowed out of the country immediately after the 9/11 attack.

Here are a few old articles, don’t forget the Saudi ambassador met with Biden right before this guy’s name dropped off the list of potential suspects. Then the first lady visits him link to pictures below. SMELLs

DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano, while testifying in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee today, actually conceded that Abdul Rahman Ali Al-Harbi, the Saudi national who moved from ‘suspect’ to ‘person of interest’ to ‘witness’ to ‘victim’ all in less than 24 hours after the Boston bombings, was indeed placed on a terrorist watchlist. This is in stark contrast to what she told the Rep. Jeff Duncan at a House Homeland Security Committee hearing last week.

Providing further intrigue is that one day before Napolitano conceded Al-Harbi’s watchlist status, talk show host Glenn Beck explained how difficult it was for someone to both get a 212 3B designation – allegedly what Al-Harbi had received – and to have it removed; it would an extremely long time for all of that to happen, much longer than 24 hours.

Napolitano seems to either flatly contradict herself or openly admit that it is easy for someone to be put on a terrorist watchlist even though they don’t reach ‘person of interest’ status. That’s either a lie or a chilling statement of what this government is doing

It is amazing what lots and lots of Saudi money can do especially to elected officials and their appointees. We have the best government that money can buy!

“What a fool I was.”

Not a fool, you just didn't know. A fool is someone who keeps believing in someone when the actual facts are contradictory, like Obamabots. It doesn't matter what Obama does, his Obamabots don't care. Glen Beck took a lot of people in. I really enjoyed his Fox show, but realized later he wasn't what he advertised himself to be. Now I can't stand him.

The problem with Beck is, he finds a new audience over time who haven't heard his lies, so they tend to believe him. It takes a while to find out the truth.

We are all taken in by people who misrepresent themselves. But Obamabots see him commit crimes against humanity and they don't care.
