VIDEO: Rick Perry reveals that Obama threatened governors at recent meeting

Hardly a surprise: During a recent meeting with the nation’s governors, President Obama made clear his top priority, which is to make sure that the governors don’t go talking out of turn or criticizing his policies in any way. Texas Gov. Rick Perry saw no reason to keep this a secret, and as you can see here, he didn’t:

If you set aside the political ramifications and jargon....what does it matter at this point when precious few are even willing to act on either side of the fence.

I will support any Governor of any state who acts on our borders...and or stands up to this administration.....it has to begin and regardless of how we might think politically....our representatives on all sides need to stand up to this...though I doubt many Democrates would...there may be a few who see this as an opportunity to do the right thing.

If Rick Perry is a liberal, turn out the lights, we're done.

OK, Click.

Perry’s state is being most affected, and has been for some time. But Perry has the lower extremities to stand up to Obama ..and in his face... when he knows full well Obama is attempting to play King of Perry’s mountain. Not every Governor has that ability, nor the fortitude to come off as Perry does. Those that don’t, however, do need to support him and ‘show’ they are behind him and willing to say so openly.

It’s......this is about the border...not the upcoming election...Perry’s acting and standing up to Obama...we’ve waited for someone willing to do so...so where’s your candidate? Is he getting his face in Obama’s face?

It’s critical we realize who those are that will put feet to what they say...currently Perry’s doing just that....regardless of what side of the isle he may or not side with...he’s on the move for protecting this nations border and should be supported by every Patriotic American as he does so.

Oh I think Perry intends to more than “thump Obama in the eye”.....Perry’s defending his state...that’s what he’s suppose to do and even though he’s a Globalist regarding trade and business, and will do what is necessary to protect those interests on his border....I really don’t care where his motive comes come....He’s an American and does love this nation.......you protect your own home first...which is what he’s doing. Even if it means pushing back and taking down the corrupt and anti-american government now running this country.

I just get tired of the never ending attacks on the guy.
It is hard to govern as an ideologue..

Obama is the only exception I have ever seen.
He never stops, but we all know why he was not thrown out on his ear ages ago.

Really, pointing out that (a) the TX Constitution allows the governor to repel invasion, (b) that this is an invasion, and (c) the proper response is lethal violence?

You can’t just gun down kids at the border.

Yes, yes you can: bullets don't discriminate.
The onus of this is on those that pushed the kids to the border, or do you really think the actual children decided to cross the border by themselves? — this of course ignores the question of how many are actually children, I'm inclined to believe that number [or ratio] to be grossly inflated, that they are being used as human shields, that they are being used as political pawns, and that they are invaders.

Bullets and arty are excellent solutions to this problem: neither discriminates.

What are you talking about?
I've seen nothing that indicates he's really standing up to Obama — let's see the NG deployed to the border with lethal-force authorization, none of this "observation" crap, none of this "apprehension" crap, real shoot anyone entering the country not at a port of entry orders.

Well Freepers are known to attack their own unfortunately. But I will support any Governor who wants to secure our borders. ...which is as far as Perry will go. He would not favor ‘closing them’ for any length of time .....he needs them open for the business and investor companies on his border....and the plans for his state being a porthole for trade and cheap labor...which it’s fast becoming.

I wouldn’t have a serious problem with Perry if he ran for President, though I prefer another, he would represent our nation well and knows how to get the deals for trade etc.

I personally don’t believe it’s possible for the US to become isolated from the Globalist side of trade...but I put my foot down for anything regarding an ‘International’ Governance of my country. I don’t believe Perry would go for that either...but then we do know politicians do follow the money when it boils down to that.

Oh come on....politicians rarely go at something full boar, especially when they are hoping increments might wake up Washington. Perry’s Nat’ Guard will be there for the criminal elements flooding in...and that’s a start. He’d have to limit this to stay within the law for the time being. Once they’re there and actively in place...we shall see. But I sure do give Perry the opportunity to go this far....nobody at all is doing even close thus far.

Several things:

  1. National guard on Observer missions are not incremental; it's been done several times before. (NM circa 2008; sorry, I don't remember the op name.)
  2. All these immigrants are illegal, that's why they are illegal immigrants.
  3. Given that the low-estimate puts illegal immigrants at 5% of the population, and high at 10% of the population it is correct to call it invasion.
  4. Given that it is invasion, the proper response is swift, decisive violence.
  5. Given the two above points, there is no time for an incremental approach; congress and the executive have kicked the can down the road to the critical point.

Oh I agree it’s an “Invasion”........But this isn’t the first time Perry’s used his Guard....and I think the state is tired of picking up the “extra” costs which always exceeds anything which Washington offers.....

You think that “swift, decisive “VIOLENCE” is the answer to the illegals? Well if that is the answer then why haven’t the american people done what their gov. is paid and refuses to do?

Seems to me ‘we’re just as guilty’ as the gov. for keeping these idiots in office and the borders as they are, with your line of thinking.

By your own admission Perry is not a Republican.

He's a republican, not a Reagan conservative...

Being a Governor, he must appeal to the center to a certain degree, to retain support...

As for Perry being for amnesty

Here's a interview he did back in 2011...

Because they're hesitant; they'd likely be called murderers and prosecuted (and persecuted) by the very government that is obligated to do the job.

It's like the security guard you hired beating the shit out of you for doing his job when he refuses to do it.

He is asking to deploy the TNG on the border even as we speak.

Thirty to forty five days to deploy, exactly how many will cross before then?

If you buy this, you will fall for anything. Now if he called out the Militia then he would be serious because the feds have nothing to do with that and they would have law enforcement powers.

If you don't like a candidate, argue against issues or positions, especially if it's someone on our side.

You ignore his positions and react to the feckless diversion of deploying National Guard troops to observe and nothing more. Further it will take 30 to 45 days to deploy, he has absolutely no plan. If he was serious he would call out the Militia because they have power to enforce state laws. He could also ask the Sheriffs to form posses which would also have law enforcement powers, he did neither because all he had to do was pretend to do something and we fall all over ourselves trying to find some reason to support him for President.

What positions? Specifically, what liberal positions has Perry ever advocated.

And I sure the hell am more impressed with his deploying the guard to the border than all the others who have done NOTHING!

So tell me, who’s your dream perfect candidate for 2016? You have a name, right?
