The UN says militant Islamist group Isis has ordered all women and girls in Mosul, northern Iraq, to undergo female genital mutilation (FGM).
UN official Jacqueline Badcock said the fatwa, or religious edict, applied to females between the ages of 11 and 46.

Sorry for the shocker; but I think people need to get the word out how horrible and primitive this thing is. In most areas, there is no anesthesia used. Everything is scraped out — the labia minora and clitoris — with crude knives, and then the outer labia are sewed together with only a small hole for urination and menstruation. The healing time takes weeks or months. Many die from infection, or are terribly injured again when they are handled brutally on their wedding night.
Any society that mistreats their females in such a way is sick at a basic level and needs to be brought to accounts by the entire world community.
Madness of such magnitude cannot be allowed to continue. To look the other way means that the madness will spread and eventually result in a dark age that will be difficult to emerge from.

I saw a clip about it on either 20/20 or 60 Minutes many years ago.
Hearing the sound of the little girls shrieking in pain as they are cut has never left me.
I cannot see anything good that comes out of islam. Everything it touches if perverted, twisted, damaged, and scarred.

And what about the UN official Jacqueline Badcock? She appears to be announcing this in calm measured tones, no sense of outrage whatsoever. Typical for lefties, they only get outraged against Israel or American Christians.
I think it is their hatred and fear of women that disturbs me the most.
How can a society get so sick!?
I know some muslims and they are very nice, it is as Churchill said “Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities”
I both feel sorry for them and fear them at the same time.
I am glad that I was not brought up in their tradition....
Christianity also had a dark period, I shudder when I reflect on those horrific times.
I treat everyone I meet with respect, I follow the rule “Treat others as you would have them treat you” I wish everyone followed that glorious rule :-)

Yes, I have met some individuals who, as people in casual social settings, come across as very nice. But sad to say, I don’t really trust them, knowing what little I do about the teachings of islam.
They are in the US and I can only imagine that they are biding their time and if they ever had the upper hand, I might find out what they are really like.
That’s an awful thought to carry around in the back of my mind about someone of a different religion, but islam is more than a different religion and when I see what muslims are capable of, I just can’t get my guard to come down.
