According to the poll, which was released Wednesday, the President's approval rating among Americans stands at 42%. That's not great, but it's basically unchanged since March.
Only 42% believe that Obama can manage the government effectively. Again, nothing to celebrate, but it's virtually unchanged from the 43% who felt that way in March.
The poll was conducted for CNN by ORC International from July 18-20, with 1,012 adult Americans questioned by telephone.

The numbers they are reporting are of the “adults”, not those of the registered voters, I think he is doing much worse among actual voters.
All we need for 2016 is a plausible conservative candidate who hasn't been thoroughly trashed by the MSM...
I suggested a-general-to-be-named-later for 2012, to avoid the damage of years if MSM sniping -- but apparently generals have as much trouble keeping their pants on as any other politician. If the Republicans wanted my advice, I'd suggest beginning to look for someone for 2016 who isn't on anyone's radar screen yet.
Obama is a reflection of America's already-transformed soul; feckless, lazy, immoral, degenerate, ungrateful, envious. In other words, a soul with a communist world-view.
The liberal media trash-compactor will immediately work on any Republican who seems the least conservative.
It can't be helped, and is one reason why so few conservatives make it to the top.
Regardless, I'd say we should start with the list of the most conservative governors, senators & congress-critters, and give them all plenty of opportunity to show us their good stuff.
I think, Dems are now so vulnerable on so many issues, it shouldn't be impossible for somebody to take them on successfully.

I noticed the poll did not give the internal stats on whom was polled. i.e. Likely voters, registered voter, voter by party. The real numbers must be very ugly indeed.

I’m not sure all the ways the commies did a purge but this whole poll deal sounds like it might work. Just call around taking an inocuous poll, find out where the stupid people are, then go get them. Or at least save their phone numbers for later? Guess you wouldn’t have to go get them. Just call back later and tell them their Obamaphone or their Obamastashcash is ready to pick up? Maybe give them the address of a landfill?

Ignorant certainly. A large majority of the American electorate doesn’t know basic things the world, or politics, fewer still care.
Still Im among the 58% that believe Obama CANT do his job for lack of competence. Obama has never done anything like being an chief executive officer before and the last 6 years seems to have demonstrated pretty well that he doesn’t have the innate ability in him to run things rather than just talk about them.
As for the 42% that believe he can, im not sure how many of them think he just ain’t inclined and how many of them don’t have a clue whats going on.
401ks are a reflection of investment much of which is foreign, all of which will eventually be subject to goverment inflation and money grabbing taxation unless people find a nice stable tax haven to retire in.

There’s a percentage that will NEVER admit Obama is doing a terrible job. It’s the, “Well, Republicans are worse” crowd.
