THE bodies of the MH17 victims has arrived by train in Kharkiv – the first step in their long journey home.

But Mark Rutte, the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, has warned that the identification of some of the bodies could take months....

Earlier, Mr Abbott described the aftermath of the MH17 air disaster as “evidence tampering on an industrial scale”.

The PM said the last few days have been a difficult and trying time for our country and that the MH17 crash site in eastern Ukraine had been “trampled from the beginning”.

“After the crime, comes the cover-up,” Mr Abbott said. “What we have seen is evidence tampering on an industrial scale — and that has to stop.”

The Prime Minister told reporters in Canberra the objectives now are to retrieve the bodies of the victims, to secure the crash site, to conduct the investigation and to bring justice....

The rebels may have thought it was a military transport but Russian technicians would have known otherwise.

The plane was at 33,00 feet and 3 minutes from being in Russian airspace and out of rebel-held air space.

under international law, we have responsibility to investigate the destruction of a US-made aircraft.

I doubt there is an international law that says we can go anywhere we feel like if a Boeing plane crashes there.

That is why this whole thing is going to go down the memory hole. Both sides will never agree to any evidence the other provides.

Obama isn’t going to do what they want anyway, And who wants Obama at the helm of anything? At least there won’t be more dead Americans over a plane that didn’t really have Americans on it.

The dirty secret is that the US and Russia both pretend they aren’t backing sides in this. But they are.

The Malaysians have the black boxes. Not that they know what to do with them.

I can certainly see a bunch of yahoo rebels shooting down a jet if someone told them what buttons to press. The idea that Russian professionals were involved is a much bigger stretch. The plane was at 33k almost out of the country so transporting troops doesn’t add up.

Exactly -- what were those who pushed the button thinking???

I think that idiots were just testing their new toy. I think that the idiots are like fetal alcohol kids with no concept of cause and consequence.

And then after these fetal alcohol kids do this they turn around and want everybody to treat them as prime ministers of the crime scene that they caused.

The report I read indicated it had just dropped from the planned 33,000 ft to 31,000, per local air traffic control’s request.

Others will doubtless deny this because it doesn’t fit their agenda.

A prudent person might wait until the facts (yeah, right) come out in the official investigation.

In any event, the black box displayed in the presser yesterday looked fairly intact, it will tell its own tale.

Well, fetal alcohol syndrome kids do very often end up in a life crime and chaos. As a matter of fact, I believe that, considering that these were Russians that we are talking about, fetal alcohol syndrome could be very possible.

The black box will tell us if it dropped and that would implicate the rebels to some extent. If it wasn’t dropping, then the question remains: why?

Yes, we have the I Marine Expeditionary Force and XVIII Corps. Should be authority enough, shouldn’t it? As far as legitimacy goes, I wouldn’t imagine the Ukrainian government would object.
