SHOT UP: Udall Losing In NYT Predictive Model For First Time
Colorado Peak Politics ^ | July 21, 2014

Posted on 07/21/2014 2:57:42 PM PDT by george76

For the first time this entire election cycle The New York Times Senate forecast at The Upshot predicts Udall has a greater chance of losing reelection than winning (53%-47%). This is a huge deal, as The Upshot tries to go beyond just the polls and factor in other intangibles about a race, such as, incumbency, fundraising, a state’s past election history among others, who the liberals at the NYT want to win. All those factors in The Upshot model lean heavily Udall’s way. Yet, despite this inherent, built-in advantage, Udall can’t overcome one thing: the people of Colorado feel he is too far Left for our independent-minded state.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise, as Udall was still one of the deciding votes on Obamacare, a bill that brought nearly 16% of the entire nation’s economy under more bureaucratic control and heavy government regulations. This makes it pretty much the antithesis of Udall’s new bogus “Freedom” campaign.

Or, how Udall not only supports Obama’s desire to have more control over 64% of Colorado’s energy industry, but wants Obama to go even further. Because, nothing says freedom in Colorado, like more bureaucrats in Washington D.C. telling us how to live our lives out here in the West. And, any definition of freedom in Colorado definitely doesn’t mean an even more restrictive ban on gun magazine size (10), than the already gone too far law (15) that ended up costing three Democratic state Senators their jobs.

Honestly, does Udall not understand the definition of freedom

...

Instead of freedom from our guns, freedom from our choice of doctors, or freedom from how we get our electricity, Coloradans this fall want freedom from Udall.

A nicely written piece, and I do love a clever ending.

Damn time we turn this state back to a strictly red state. I’ve seen too much destruction to Colorado in the past ten years. Makes my heart ache.

Well I suppose I won’t be answering my phone for a while. Those liberal rats will be making one of the dirtiest political campaigns in Colorado. They have already started calling. Aspen Polling, stay off of my phone.

Well, to paraphrase Lyndon Johnson, “if I’ve lost the New York Times, I’ve lost Colorado.”

“...Damn time we turn this state back to a strictly red state....”

Would be nice if we could get the colors right though.

“Blue” states were the states that went for Ronald Reagan back in the 80s. “Red” states - appropriately enough - were the Democrat states.

They HATED that - red being the communist color after all - and set about having their media buddies change it during Algore vs Bush.

Red fits them better.

Red is not a bad color in the context of America:

‘From the book “Our Flag” published in 1989 by the House of Representatives...

“On July 4, 1776, the Continental Congress passed a resolution authorizing a committee to devise a seal for the United States of America. This mission, designed to reflect the Founding Fathers’ beliefs, values, and sovereignty of the new Nation, did not become a reality until June 20, 1782. In heraldic devices, such as seals, each element has a specific meaning. Even colors have specific meanings. The colors red, white, and blue did not have meanings for The Stars and Stripes when it was adopted in 1777. However, the colors in the Great Seal did have specific meanings. Charles Thompson, Secretary of the Continental Congress, reporting to Congress on the Seal, stated:

“The colors of the pales (the vertical stripes) are those used in the flag of the United States of America; White signifies purity and innocence, Red, hardiness & valour, and Blue, the color of the Chief (the broad band above the stripes) signifies vigilance, perseverance & justice.”’

‘hardiness & valour’ - we could do worse.

No longer living in Colorado ( moved to Atlanta ), Ward is still defending himself - Fake Indian - and his Fake scholarship.

He has a half-dozen books in varying states of completion .. to finish .. over the next .. three years .

He is finishing up a chapter for an upcoming book coedited by Akinyele Umoja and Charles Jones on the late Kwame Ture. . known in the U.S. as Stokely Carmichael, the guy who popularized the term “Black Power” back in 1967.

He also finished a piece on the Lynne Stewart case.

Thanks for that info, I appreciate it.

I was merely pointing out that the Dems lost their minds over the red map states (I think it was CBS that did it originally - will check).

The communist flag being blood red and all that, and they did NOT want anything to do with labeled red... Too close to home for them. I suppose.

Ok—now I get it. I didn’t know the backstory on how we got the red color. Interesting history. I’m sure your theory is correct.

Yeah, Like I said - I believe it was CBS originally that showed the election night map - they had all of the States that went for Ronaldus Magnus in blue.

The Dimwits scrambled for the next election - Gore v Bush - and made sure they got it changed.
