".......As governor, Perry is commander in chief of Texas military forces unless those forces have already been mobilized by the White House. But if Perry deploys National Guard troops it is up to Texas to pay for them, while an order from Obama would mean Washington picks up the tab.
"Gov. Perry has referred repeatedly to his desire to make a symbolic statement to the people of Central America that the border is closed," said White House spokesman Josh Earnest. "And he thinks that the best way to do that is to send 1,000 National Guard troops to the border. It seems to me that a much more powerful symbol would be the bipartisan passage of legislation that would actually make a historic investment in border security and send an additional 20,000 personnel to the border."
Earnest also said the White House hasn't received the kind of "formal communication" with Perry's office that usually accompanies such deployments..........."

July 3, 2014: “AUSTIN – Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott on Thursday said he is considering a lawsuit against the federal government over the costs associated with housing thousands of immigrant children detained on the U.S.-Mexico border.
“The State of Texas is exploring any and all options, including litigation, to address the crisis our federal government has created by not living up to their Constitutional responsibility,” Attorney General spokesman Jerry Strickland said. “If the federal government is unwilling to secure the border, the State of Texas will be forced to resort to litigation to recoup the costs incurred to respond to this crisis.”..............
..........It would not be the first time Texas has filed a suit against the federal government over the state’s border enforcement costs. In 1994, Attorney General Dan Morales sued to recoup $5 billion for services provided illegal immigrants living in Texas. The suit failed in the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, where the presiding judge expressed sympathy with state officials while urging them to take the issue directly to Congress.”

That is what I am waiting on Obama to do, but that would be a serious escalation of his “Screw You” policy to the rest of the country. Bad things are going to start happening at that point.

And Perry will STILL have the Texas State Guard, which is NOT part of the National Guard, is funded by Texas, and not subject to Obama's orders. Will Obama order the National Guard to fire upon the State Guard?

Actually I think there are pretty much the same. The state Guard Perry is deploying is the Texas unit of the national guard except since perry deployed we Texans will pay.

The governor should just text the WH a picture of his middle finger.
More importantly, what will they do when they get there, what are their orders, what is their authority and how will they accomplish it?
Sounds to me like they are “force multipliers” to a “force” that ain’t doing spit to stop illegals from entering.
Maybe they will be handing out water and Kroger coupons at the border.

I think that the response to this was too slow. This “invasion” was already in the works years ago and I find it hard to believe that the Governor of the State of Texas wouldn’t have been given a heads up. Sure they are going to be sneaking in rather boldly. . .next on the agenda. the United States of North America (Canada, US, and Mexico)

in 2012 Perry BEGGED BO to do something including about the number of illegals children coming in??
that a state can NOT supersede a federal policy and a state can not stop an illegal from coming in across a NATIONAL BORDER
right?
