Growing up, I was – as I assume you were – inundated with lists of “the benefits of citizenship.” The list was long and capped, naturally, by the fact the United States was the best, strongest, freest nation on the planet.
Being an American was a source of pride. But is it still? Do the benefits of citizenship still outweigh the alternative?
As progressives cheer the dissolution of our southern border and, by extension, our sovereignty, it’s worth looking at the benefits of non-citizenship illegal aliens now enjoy and comparing them to the responsibilities of citizenship.
Most people don’t like paying taxes. But it’s the price of citizenship, and if we don’t we face losing our property and jail time. We also do it because the government has legitimate functions that only it can do and that need to be paid for. It also does way more than it needs to or should, but that’s an argument for another time.
But the people flooding our border haven’t paid taxes and, to be honest, have no real prospects for paying taxes in the future, if they stay.
Most do not speak English, have no education and no real skills to contribute to the economy. No doubt some have potential in the future. But we don’t live in the future, and the total number who will fulfill that potential are almost as rare as unicorns.
Until those unicorns can draft a business plan, they all will be a drain on the economy, an economy that even after five “Recovery Summers” can’t employ enough Americans in full-time positions to return us to where we were before the last recession.
The jobs they take while they await their immigration hearings – and they will take jobs even though they aren’t legally allowed to – will be under-the-table jobs. No taxes will be paid. More importantly, those jobs won’t go to Americans who would have paid taxes on their wages. Medicare taxes will not be paid. Social Security taxes will not be paid. And the employers who hire them, illegally, for cash will save money too, not having to pay their share of taxes or for benefits.
In addition to the jobs they will fill, they will get sick. Everyone, citizen or not, can show up at an emergency room and get health care. The difference is a citizen will get a bill, but an illegal alien will not. A citizen is required to buy insurance; an illegal alien is not. A citizen who doesn’t buy insurance eventually will be forced to pay a fine for not following the law and may have to declare bankruptcy to pay for services received. Illegal aliens can…well, you get the idea.
Citizens who fall on hard times, such as the Obama economy, can avail themselves of the social safety net until they get back on their feet. But illegals can too. Sure, it’s against the law for illegal aliens to receive welfare, but the few documents that are required can be purchased easily on the black market. Identity theft is rampant in the illegal alien community, as it were.
Moreover, many states offer driver’s licenses and in-state tuition to illegals. You, as a citizen, can’t attend a college in another state without paying full-freight, but someone in the country illegally can. Illegal aliens are even boarding domestic flights without photo IDs, but you can’t. Advantage illegals.
As an American citizen you can be arrested for allowing your children to play in front of your house, as happened in 2012, or for allowing them to play in a park without you hovering over them, as happened this month. As an illegal alien, you can pay a human trafficker up to $10,000 to smuggle your child thousands of miles through several countries, have them enter the country illegally, and they’ll get free health care, food, housing and a plane ticket to be reunited with you.
Imagine placing an ad on Craig’s List seeking a stranger to drive your minor child from Los Angeles to St. Louis for cash. Forget not having anyone in St. Louis waiting for them; you’re just sending them to the city. How long do you suspect it would be before a SWAT team and child protective services kicked in your door? A half-hour at most?
That’s what these illegal aliens who’ve sent for their kids to join them here – and many, if not most, of the unaccompanied minors are sent for by their parents, not sent by them – are doing. Their children aren’t being taking into protective custody by social services, the parents aren’t being arrested or even investigated; they’re being reunited with their illegal alien children. And it’s all being done on our dime.
We aren’t there yet, but we’re fast approaching a time when it’s more advantageous to be in the United States illegally than it is to be a law-abiding citizen. If we don’t gain control of our borders and reclaim our sovereignty, we will jump that shark in the next 10 years. The president’s much ballyhooed “comprehensive immigration reform” won’t make a dent in the real problem of punishing citizens but will incentivize law breaking.
We are no longer talking about a situation that can be assuaged by a “Little Dutch Boy” approach. The dike has collapsed, and we’re all wet.
And although it is still a trickle, more expats are renouncing their citizenship because the IRS has made life so difficult for Americans living and doing business abroad.
And as a citizen, you can volunteer to fight and be killed halfway around the world to protect all f this BS.
Citizenship hasn’t jumped the shark. The Federal government has jumped the legitimacy shark. It no longer has Constitutional backing and is simply a criminal enterprise.
If American citizenship is rendered worthless, it won't be cherished or protected, which is exactly what Obama and his rats want.

Still long for the nation I lived in when was a child. Don’t want that nation to go down the memory hole; for history is written by the victors and America will never have been if America is defeated when rewritten by those seeking America’s destruction. So much will be lost. So many will be lost. Freedom is the yearning of People but Freedom will probably be a banned word. Wouldn’t be pc.

In the city of Houston it is more beneficial to be a
disease ridden criminal alien wetback than a natural borne
American citizen.
No traffic tickets, no taxes, free garbage service ( you
just wait till the garage gets full then you load up and
dump it in the nearest private dumpster). Free medical and
food stamps given no questions asked, that is unless you
are a legal citizen, then you get to jump through the hoops
given by what is most likely an illegal wetback city employee.
And the big one, only wetbacks are allowed to
have multiple families in a single family residence.
They can loiter around and on private property, urinating and
littering. And on and on.

Beside votes wonder how much money and who knows what else did Obama&Co receive for selling sovereignty it has to do with more than votes they can jimmy the vote list anytime.
I am very discouraged, to the extent that I often feel like a stranger in my own country — a country my family has been in and been a part of for almost 400 years. I am not done yet. I know there are plenty of others who have had enough and I hope that there are enough who can act to turn back the tide. I am on the downslope of life, but I think of how my children and grandchildren will live.

Stop the free stuff and we might have a chance of righting America’s heritage and contributions to the world. Further, is a country without borders still a country? As progressives swell the population of the lower economic class, can revolution be far behind? Why are incoming immigrants, many illegal, entitled to what I have managed to accumulate over 50 plus years of saving, sacrificing, and investing? Why can I not expect a worker in what was meant to be a starter and part-time job to be able to speak English? More importantly, why are the starter jobs becoming full time? Why should everyone be entitled to a college degree and what is it’s value? I remember one of the “occupier” signs saying: $96,000 in college debt for a degree in lesbian studies and no job”. Am I responsible for her choosing a major for which there is only one job (teaching) and her professor already has it? Who is responsible for the obesity crisis, food providers or the lazy individuals who sit on a couch and play computer games instead of going outside and engaging in physical activity? And speaking of computers, if tobacco addiction is worth billions in court, how much is computer addiction worth? Why do we blame the “system” and not the individual? Why do we allow lawsuits to be legal lotteries? Why is the system of justice often based on which attorney can lie the best? Why do we allow officials to pledge to uphold the constitution then watch them do the reverse without recourse? Forgive me but I get carried away at times. Guess I’ll go bury my head in the sand and everything will be ok.
You know who is never ask their opinion? The illegal infiltrators. They're never asked why they come. They're never asked if they want American Citizenship. They're never, ever, ever asked if they want to become Americans.
They're never asked because the elite doesn't even think of asking them. And they're never asked because the answers won't serve the cause of continual mass invasion by illegals.
Comprehensive Immigration Reform does nothing to secure the border and does nothing to stop illegal immigration.
The illegals are pawns, the American People are pawns of the elitist masterminds, who want to transform this country. Both parties are involved.
Drastic changes were made to my city, Los Angeles. Most of those changes involved just a handful of people, the police chief, the City Council and judges. I live in the San Fernando Valley, a part of Los Angeles with about 3 million people. The fact that Americans moved out of the San Fernando Valley attests to the fact that we didn’t want to live in a third world city and didn’t agree with our elected officials or the courts. What can you do about the courts?
The states of Mississippi, Arkansas, Utah, Kansas, Nevada, New Mexico, Nebraska, West Virginia, Idaho, Hawaii, Main, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, D.C., Vermont, and Wyoming all have less than 3 million people.
The importation of foreigners throughout America is Obama’s intent on destroying America’s sovereignty. I expect he will be seen as the “Johnny Appleseed” of a One World Order.

In 1977, The California Supreme Court ordered the Los Angeles School District to come up with a plan to desegregate their schools. The school district came up with forced bussing and parents moved out of the Los Angeles School District.
It was called “White Flight”. Homes became hard to sell, apartments were hard to rent and schools started closing. Illegal aliens replaced Americans in Los Angeles. Teachers and all government employees answering to the gods of the unions turned against Americans.

Special Order 40 is a police mandate implemented in 1979 by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), its Police Chief Daryl Gates and the Los Angeles City Council preventing LAPD officers from questioning people for the sole purpose of determining their immigration status. The mandate was passed in an effort to encourage residents who are in the country illegally to report crimes without intimidation. The order states:

The ruling – rejecting the County’s motion for summary judgment – instead granted partial summary judgment to the Anti-Discrimination Center (“ADC”).
Judge Denise Cote rules that the federal government’s zoning laws supersede local zoning laws forcing housing for the poor in all neighborhoods. This judgment means that you can no longer expect to move up to a better neighborhood with better and safer schools.
