In case you missed it, your leader is Obama. He is not vested in your fight for freedom. He has taken your sovereignty and your money and your freedom and he intends to take your guns. That is your last line of defense against a totalitarian regime. Now who’s freedom are we fighting for, ours or somebody elses?
Nnot to mention, Obama is going to do nothing other than some symbolic gestures at the UN.

I don’t pretend to know what goes on in either of their minds, although i have little doubt that Putin has as much desire for us to leave him alone as we do to to be left alone by the likes of him and Obama.
In either case I have to think for myself and weigh the costs & risk of involvement vs the reward. Unfortunately I see little to no reward in defending eastern Ukraine, as you can couldn’t on Ukraine not rising to our defense should we ever need it. Indeed if anything we only alienate Russia whom we actually Do need in balancing the growth of Communist china. Not to mention in controlling Iran. Ukraine has not, cannot, and will never be able to help us with any of theses real threats to America.
Russia on the other hand has helped us and they will help us in the future(if we don’t become full blown enemies again).
Not to put it too bluntly but Ukraine is expendable, they don’t have anything we need, and they can offer nothing we we want or will need. The only reason Obama is even lifting a finger in their defense is because of some foolish notion of global solitary against territorial bondries changes which don’t make any sense to me. Even if Crimina wasn’t majority ethic Russian or part of Russia for most of the last 200 years I wouldn’t care which country owns it.
What is important is our relations with Russia down the line in dealing with growing threats in the east and middle east.
Sometimes you have to make friends with folk you don’t perfectly agree with in order to manage folk who could pose a real threat later on. Putin wont be around forever but Russia will not forget how we treat them today.
