A Democrat from the Congressional Hispanic Caucus who attended a private White House meeting with President Barack Obama on Wednesday said Obama told the group to expect "major actions" to unilaterally change the country's immigration laws. On MSNBC's Thursday's Jose Diaz-Balart show, Rep. Tony Cardenas (D-CA) said Obama made it clear that "now is the time for the president to act," since Congress did not pass amnesty legislation. Cardenas said he would like to see Obama "go ahead to give some kind of status" to most of the approximately 11 million illegal immigrants who are here. He said there are plenty of categories where Obama can give temporary status to 500,000 to a million illegal immigrants. According to Cardenas, Obama said during the meeting that he wanted to expedite the deportations for some but ensure that children who are looking for asylum can make their case, so they can get "temporary or permanent status here in the United States."

Typical Progressive Policies: Illegals first and Americans second.

They should know by now that his “promises” are worthless. “If you like your doctor... “ and “not one dime increase in taxes...” come to mind immediately.

If Obama does that, John Boehner will tell everybody that he is a bad, bad man. Uh huh... that’ll show him.

Oh no! Haven't you heard? That will just embolden the Dem base and cause us to lose the Senate in November. It's not politically savy doncha-know. /s

he can change them all he wants, but a republican president and Congress of the right caliber will just overturn his changes. He’s quite The Joker, standing there with his two wives.

Are members of the “Hispanic caucus more interested in the well being of people of other countries rather than the people of the USA that elected them. Here is the problem of having people of foreign heritages in governing positions. They care for the mother country more than they do for America.

Here is the thinking of certain hispanic persons and groups, how they’ve been indoctrinated and told what their mission is, from another thread:

“... because American corporations and the CIA had so ruthlessly exploited and abused Central American countries in the past, the only way for people from that region to recoup their societies’ purported losses over time was to migrate Northward, illegally if necessary, up and into the wealthy welfare state of prosperous America to obtain what booty they could for remittances to send back home, to Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, El Salvador, and so on, and to live as high on the hog as possible while here, engaged in long-term Reconquista.”
