Was MH17 flying through warzone to save fuel? Planes in area of crash site pictured flying away from

Air accident investigators are planning to inspect the proposed flight plan lodged by pilots on board Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 to see if they flew over a warzone to save fuel. The 17-year-old jet was shot down over eastern Ukraine despite British, European and US commercial aircraft being warned against using the airspace since April. One of the major questions is whether the Malaysian flight crew received the warning from flight safety officials about the risk to safety. One aviation expert revealed: 'Malaysia Airlines, like a number of other carriers, have been continuing to use it because it is a shorter route, which means less fuel and therefore less money.' The jet was travelling at 33,000 feet at 490 knots when it disappeared from radar screens while approaching the Russian border.

I was wondering what planes were flying through a war zone. The airlines have been warned but Malaysian chose to ignore the warnings and looks got 300 people killed. No sane person should fly Malaysian.

Who would get on a plane operated by that airline at this point? No one ever again, I imagine.

Russia joined that club around 1984.

Not sure of the timing but Russia if one includes the USSR might of been the inaugural member shooting down the KAL flight during the 80s.

It is possible the SAM operators were told to shoot down anything that popped up on the radar.

Russia has joined the US/NK/China club of shooting down an airliner
See Korean Airlines flight 007, shot down by the soviets on 9/1/83 - a Boeing 747 with 269 aboard.

Not exactly a shoulder-fired weapon.

The missile used is from the 9K37 Buk battlefield SAM system (NATO code name SA-17 Gadfly), the successor to the 2K12 Kub (NATO code name SA-6 Gainful) that wreaked so much early havoc against the Israeli Air Force early in the Yom Kippur War. The current production version is a very modern SAM system, which has been continually upgraded in recent years.

What is up with these Malaysian Air pilots? They had to know planes were shot down in the area in the last few days.

Only problem is it is NOT a ‘war zone’. It is an area where Soviet infiltrators are busy helping separatists attempting to destroy an elected government.

I guess the rebels/terrorists/patriots must have tripped and hit the acquire and launch buttons at the same moment? I don’t know who’s who in the Ukraine at this point. Was the flight ignoring the warning to not fly over the area? Prayers to the innocents and their families.

At the time Putin had the Malaysian 777 downed, there were 25 -10 other commercial aircraft within a hundred miles. The Malaysian 777 wasn’t the only aircraft using the air routes over The Ukraine at the time. Who’d have thought Vlad would become suicidal and start killing civilians on airliners. Guess he won’t be as loved by some of the members here anymore.

Malaysian Airlines a majority Malaysian government held corporation. This is a none story for the mainstream media.

Now, was it a privately held corporation or god forbid the Koch Brothers held say 5%...well then you would see this story screamed from the mountain tops.

Remember the Chilean miners trapped, the story was about the rescue, because the mining operation was state owned.
