The United States is doing "everything in our power" to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza, Secretary of State John Kerry said Wednesday, according to AFP.
"Our concern is to have a legitimate ceasefire and see if we can find a way to stop the conflict and killing so we can get to the real issues that are underlying it," Kerry told reporters as he met his counterpart from Luxembourg.
"And we're doing everything in our power," said Kerry, adding that he has been speaking to Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Arab officials.

Now just a cotton pickin’ minit here. Let’s be fair. Lurch would never stoop to taking crack. Why, he wouldn’t take anything lower class than Ecstacy. Don’t you know who he is? Well, neither does he.
Conversation between Kerry and Netanyahu went like this:
Kerry: Now Binyamin, you need to show a little restraint.
Netanyahu: STFU you idiot.
Since the only side that ever wants a ceasefire is the side that’s losing; and since in this case Hamas is losing and John Kerry is calling for a ceasefire, we know John Kerry is pro-Hamas and anti-Israel.
But why can’t John Kerry be upfront about it? He’s not fooling anyone. If he were honest he would go all in for the Muslims, a la Lawrence of Arabia, complete with a robe and kaffiya. Not only would he erase all doubt about where he stands — anti-Israel and pro-Hamas — but he would also probably win a Nobel Peace Prize.
Wrong. About 50% of American wants to be fooled. Falling all over themselves to be fooled. How do you think the kenyan got elected in the first and second place.
Ironically, Lawrence of Arabia’s military adventures were largely inflated, as were John Kerry’s.
