Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and undocumented immigrant Jose Antonio Vargas was detained at a Texas airport Tuesday morning, his spokesman said.
Vargas was held at a detention center at the airport in McAllen, Texas, after he tried to fly out of the border city, his spokesman Ryan Eller said. Information on why he was detained wasn't immediately available.

What’s with this guy? He’s illegal, he goes on TV, he has a spokesman/agent guy, yet INS never deals with him according to the law? He’s not an invisible illegal hiding somewhere, he’s in plain sight.

It is an established fact. Enforce immigration laws and illegal aliens will leave. Announce that you will not enforce immigration laws and illegal aliens will come pouring in over the border.
Better yet, put him in with all those illegal immigrant ‘children’ so he can give us a ‘first-hand’ story...................
Detained because he’s an illegal alien, breaking both state and federal laws? Surprise, surprise, surprise. This country is toast.

No doubt. It will be interesting, though, what excuse they give for turning him loose instead of deporting him.
I doubt they will even give a real excuse. Obama is putting it in America’s face more and more every day. He intends to break the country by 2016 and dares anyone to try and stop him.
What I don’t get is Obama’s stated policy is to go after employers who hire illegal immigrants. Yet this guy is fully employed and they can’t claim they didn’t know because he tells everyone who will listen. Why do his employers get a free pass?
As a resident of San Diego you know that the Border Patrol works the airports near the border, McAllen, El Paso, San Diego etc.
This guy knows it to and wanted to be arrested. Now we get to watch the ensuing media hysteria.
I expect the Border Patrol to be assigned "other duties" away from the airport soon. This guy will be released and become a contributing personality on MSNBC.
