That must be Rick Perry’s selfie that he is using to substitute for doing anything meaningful:

“Look at me — I’m serious — I have my cap on backwards to show it — and my life jacket.

“Okay that’s enough — I’m getting spray in my face — drop me off at shore and let me got back to Austin where I can now claim that I atleast went to the border — once upon a time.

I’m sure our politicians are getting lots of phone calls and emails.

The situation is so dire Texans should be near rioting in the politicians' offices. They should be getting in their 'leaders' faces anytime they are in public. I live in a deep blue area, behind enemy lines, but I would hope there are millions of Texans that are as mad as me and if they acted in unison and tumultuously and rudely DEMANDED action they could get some results.

“Question: If the illegal immigrants are intercepted AT the border, do they fall under different regulations than they do if they are intercepted 40 miles inland?”

Yes, I believe that is the case. If they are caught at the border, they can be turned away, no questions asked. If they are caught in our territory, they have the opportunity to try and claim refugee status, and then they must be given a hearing. At least that is the way it works for Cuban refugees with the “one foot on dry land” rule. I believe it it works the same way if they come over on land as well.
