At a Senate Appropriations Committee hearing Wednesday, President Barack Obama's Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Sylvia Burwell said that beds for illegal immigrant children can cost the federal government up to $1,000 per bed.
While asking the senators to approve the Obama administration's request for $3.7 billion to deal with the border crisis, Burwell said that beds can cost $250 to $1,000, and the supplemental funding was needed so the federal government can enter into more cost-effective contracts.

Really? I bought a pretty nice cot at Dick’s Sporting Goods for less than $50, and I’m fairly certain that the minimal cots the Army provided for our field training exercises were even cheaper.
Why aren’t these kids being deloused and loaded onto planes sending them back home?

Exactly; the government media isn’t even pretending these illegals will contribute anything to the common good anymore (like the lies about their contributions to Social Security or how the H1-B visas are needed becasue of a tech shortage).

I allowed this to happen, force a crisis, and blame the republicans, and force them to pass some immigration reform.

I watched the hearing and have never heard crap. All involved seemed to have no common sense and were only trying to keep their jobs secure.
How can anyone justify 3 billion dollars for a temporary solution? Build a fence for 3 billion and it is there to stop illegals from entering.
All those funding abortion don’t mind hurting children but cry and wring their hands over these illegal aliens. And, I haven’t heard a word about the 40% of them being 15 year old boys! What per cent are gang members? There goes more money for police protection!
