Another town bans detention of illegal unaccompanied minors, CNN anchor nearly loses her mind

League City in Texas has banned the processing and detention of illegal unaccompanied minors in their community.

Heidi Thiess, League City Councilwoman, told CNN’s Ashleigh Banfield that they don’t believe the federal government is following its own laws and the resolution they passed is aimed at the overall problem of illegal immigration and human trafficking.

When Thiess was asked if she understood the criticism that they are turning their backs on these people who just need help, she disagreed pointing out that the unaccompanied children are only 18% of those in detention right now and if the federal government were to start busing people in, they don’t get a choice as to who is brought and ultimately released in their community.

She’s Canadian, eh.

Is Canada taking some of these very needy children?

If not, why not?

Hmm?

The email of the CNN “reporter” is shown in one of the comments at the link, as well as her Twitter and Facebook accounts. I sent an email to her suggesting that since she and others at CNN care so much they are more I’m sure they will all rush right down here and take a dozen or so home with each of them. I’m sure she’ll be happy to feed, clothe, educate and assume financial responsibility for their medical care.

Whether the invaders need help or not, their need creates no obligation on our part. There are millions of people on earth who need help in some form. Are we responsible for them all?

Is Canada taking some of these very needy children?

Banfield, yes is Canadian and born in cold Winnipeg, Manitoba 1967. She became an American citizen in 2008. Ah well..... Canadians did give another Winnipeg lady to the United States and they loved her. Deanna Durbin, actress of the 1940's. Lovely graceful person.

I remember the debacle about 20 years ago on the shores of Nova Scotia. The cunning German sea captain, got an old rust bucket and whitewashed the hold. He packed about 124 Pakistanis who were penned up in a holding area in Germany. The Germans were not about to let them in.

He took his currency and off loaded them in lifeboats and took off. The Canadian television people pointed out that they were not refugees, because German is minority friendly. The arrogant spokesman for the group said the ship had come from the Indian ocean. "Are calling me a liar"? he kept saying.

I never did find out what happened to them. I did buy a copy of "Camp of the Saints" later. And the author was accused of fantasy and racism.

Here’s a way to stop it - fill buses with the illegal immigrants and drive to DC and dump them on the White House lawn.

Have to say I'm proud to work in League City.

I hear Sheila Jackson Lee is eager to have them in her Houston district. ...not so much her constituents.

Democrats throw black voters under the bus.
By A. J. Delgado
National Review on Line

One of the sleeper issues surrounding the debate on amnesty for illegal immigrants – an inconvenient one that no proponent of a widespread amnesty wishes to acknowledge – is the devastating effect so-called immigration reform will have on African Americans.

Why are Democratic politicians disregarding the concerns and needs of black Americans in a push to address the concerns and needs… of foreigners? Amnesty proponents speak of the need to grant others a better life – but what of the need to look out for our fellow Americans? What of those black Americans whose ancestors quite literally built this nation through the sweat of their brows?

Instead, Democrats are chucking aside black voters in their rush to lock in the Latino vote (or so they’re hoping). Taken for granted as a given come election-time, blacks are now actively harmed as the Democrats vow to grow their voting base through importing more and more of what they see as future blue-voters. It’s the husband who leaves his wife of 30 years: ‘We had a good run, honey, but I’ve found someone new.’

Democrats have built a brand as the party willing to stand up for black Americans, but the amnesty push shows what a false promise that was. The message to black voters is: “Yes, your ancestors endured unimaginable hardships and helped build this country, and we said we’d help you out. But now we have a new trophy wife.”

Lots of businesses espouse how hard the illegals work. I see them start as laborers and soon they have their own truck. Recenty hispanics over took the number of blacks going to college. Their segment of the population is rapidly expanding. If they haven’t already they soon will over take blacks economically. How the black community didn’t see this coming is amazing. In essence they have relegated themselves to the back of the bus again.

The GOP might not get the Hispanic vote but if enough in the Black community wake up they may peel off more than the usual 10%.

That was more a comment on the lingering fiasco perpetrated on poor communities by fed.guv.

As for buses, hire a coyote to reconfigure the insides of a few cargo planes, like they do with U-Haul trucks and such. They could probably shoehorn in over a thousand per flight. Dump 'em on the tarmac in the D.C. airports. I'm not a cruel person, so I'd suggest each get $10, a vending machine burrito, and a Metro farecard.

Good for League City. My niece lives there. I certainly don’t want my great nephews infected.

thank you for posting, HA HA She had a melt down and for someone who is supposed to be neutral then she forgot her job.

Oh and what B/S is this about undocumented, no they are illegal.
Yet again the left likes to play the name game.

Dream act, no amnesty.
Gay no homosexuals/
undocumented, no illegal.

The radical left are like the borg, no personal thinking but always going with what they are told.

They’re illegal, I came here legally, big frigging difference. I respected the laws, they do not.

"Sanctuary cities have passed all kinds of laws ignoring and impeding US immigration laws. Nobody lifted a finger.

The precedent has been set.

Yes it has, over and over and over again.

I wish someone would point this out to Mr. Holder in the next hearing he shows up at.
